This is a wonderful place to get away for a weekend. It is a good balance between far and not too far from places of interest. They provided everything you may need (from kitchen supply to toiletries). I highly recommend the pastured meats they offer, they’re amazing! It is located in the middle of the field which means a lot of bugs and ticks, so bring the bug spray and check yourself frequently. Besides that, it was a great experience.

Really awesome place for a weekend camping in the Catskills. Stacked with amenities to help us cook and enjoy our stay - cast iron pots, french press and grinder for coffee, water coolers, plenty of reserved water, candles and more. Beautiful. We had a blast!

Great stay, view was awesome and such a private, remote getaway!! If you stay here, definitely try their food— best pork chops I’ve ever had!! Also bring bug/ tick spray to stay safe!! The tent had all the supplies you need to cook and clean. Neat spot!

The site is stunning. A beautiful view and very secluded, but still easy to find. The space was super well stocked with anything you could need to cook. We ordered eggs and sausages from John and both were absolutely delicious. The tent was clean and ready for us and all stocked, including loads of drinking water. We particularly appreciated the kerosene lanterns which were so much nicer than using headlamps all night. When booking, keep an eye on the weather for the week leading up to your trip. It was beautiful on the day we got there, but it had rained for a few days beforehand, and the whole site was really swampy and muddy. Even with good waterproof hiking boots, our feet were soaked through by the end of the night. And the stove in the tent is such a wonderful luxury while camping, but the stove isn't insulated and it's still a canvas tent. You can get it really toasty while the fire is going, but it cools right down as soon as the fire dies down, so don't rely on the stove to keep you warm all night long. Overall, we'd absolutely come back, we'd just keep a closer eye on the weather next time!

Fat Apple Farm was absolutely BEAUTIFUL. The night we stayed we watched a thunderstorm roll in over the mountains as we relaxed in the great hammock on site. There were beautiful wildflowers all around us, and we even watch a young deer munch on some apples nearby. As soon as we arrived there was everything we needed also! A coffee pot, dishes, utensils, candles, blankets, everything we could need! Thank you so much for making our stay so comfortable!

Had a great time during my group’s stay at the Tentrr site on Fat Apple Farm. Communication with the CampKeeper was superb. We ordered pork chops, ground beef and some bacon - all of which was super delicious and ultra high quality (so good, in fact, we ordered several more chops to take home to our families). The view is beautiful and overall the time spent there was a fantastic experience. * As another reviewer had noted, the road leading to the site is under repair. It was not an issue though given that it had been pretty dry for the week and that we had SUV/Pickup. * Insects live outdoors - lots of them - load up on repellent! * There isn’t much shade provided naturally because the site sits on a pretty wide open field. We brought a 20 foot Kelty Noah’s Tarp (Amazon) and set it up with four adjustable poles which made for a very comfortable situation. You could / should bring a tarp or pop up canopy that you’d use for tailgating if you have one. * They have 4 very comfortable chairs on site. * The five person dome tent they have is tucked away under the cot. It is also the easiest tent to set up that I’ve ever set up. * if you’re not terribly familiar with the area, the presence of police on the Taconic is notoriously intense and strict. Do not speed on the Taconic, for everyone’s sake. * in terms of cooking and dining, there’s really nothing you need to bring as the site is super stocked with plates, bowls, utensils, Fire grate, cast iron cookware, etc. All in all Fat Apple Farm Tentrr site was awesome and I’m definitely looking forward to another visit in the future! Thanks again for everything!

This was our first Tentrr trip and i have nothing to compare it too but we did enjoy ourselves. This camp itself was well stocked with cooking supplies, camp fuel, water and other odds and ends that made packing light. The queen air mattress was decent for a night. It is off the ground so it was more like a real bed. The site keeper was quick to respond to my questions. A few things to note about this site is that there is next to zero shade. We didnt mind however if you dont want to be in the sun the entire day you would want a shelter of some sort to get some relief from the sun. The site is very secluded and off the road however the road is almost impassible unless you have a truck or a suv. They are working on a muddy part but even the first part of trail is somewhat steep and uneven. Walking from the road would be a haul, so when the road back is fixed itll be much better. I have a suv and made it back bo problem. Only other thing to keep in mind is that is in a field so that makes it very buggy, i know its camping and all but we had to deal with alot of bees, mosquitos, and alot of ticks. This is just something to be mindful of and take appropriate precautions to not get eaten up. Im glad we decided to try Tentrr as a alternative to primitive canping due to the ease of packing very little. We plan to explore more sites across the state as the summer progresses.
