Our stay at the Blooming Hill Farm was a wonderful escape from NYC. We usually camp, but decided to step it up a bit this time. The tent is on a raised platform on top of a hill surrounded by flowers. We pulled into Blooming Hill Farm and from there it was a short drive to the tent. Again, we are used to camping, so make sure you know you’re signing up for 1 step above that. The tent has an air mattress in it, and you have to bring your own bedding/sleeping bags + pillows + water. We spent the night under the stars around a fire pit, and had a bougie brunch at the beautiful farm the next morning. Thanks again, Kevin!

Beautiful campsite at the top of a hill in a field. Gorgeous view of the mountain, with a dirt road the goes right up to the camp. Loved watching the sunset from the porch. Hosts were gracious and nice!

So, my boyfriend and I stayed here one night (just nights before the other 1-star review shown below), and I have to say, our stay was equally disappointing. ACCESS: It's true, the site is a bit hard to find, and even once you find it you do need to hike up a hill to get to the actual tent - fine, but annoying considering it's advertised as a pull-up spot. Once you climb the narrowly "mowed" path to the site, you are restricted to a very small poorly manicured campsite. INSECTS: The 20'x20' site is tightly surrounded by waist-high brush full of ticks. The ticks aren't the landowner's issue, but maintaining the field as advertised on the listing would have been far better in reducing this issue. Both the table benches, tent, and patio had major wasp issues. The landowner left a can of wasp spray behind, but it did little as the nests have been there for some time. The tent had obviously been sitting there all winter with little to no "spring cleaning", so was also full of spiders and insects of the like. AMENITIES: No shower was set up as promised (we found it inside one of the benches in the original packaging), no toilet was set up (we found it INSIDE the tent) and there is no semi-private space to set it up regardless, as they have not mowed behind or to the side of the tent. The air mattress was present, but haphazardously placed on the cot - we had to deflate it, put it in the cot itself, and reinflate. As mentioned, the benches were also full of crap, so we had no space to use them as bear boxes, food storage, etc... LONG STORY SHORT: We are avid (real) campers (no offense Tentrr) who were looking for a relaxing and low maintenance "glamping" weekend. This campsite was far more work and far less comfortable than any rugged outdoors adventure of our past. The landowner does not take any pride in the plot or the camper experience, so I would highly recommend not going here until Tentrr steps in to remedy this. POSITIVES?: There was firewood for our use! Not enough for the whole night, but some. And the views could have been amazing if not blocked by 4 feet of grass!

Overall, I would say my Tentrr experience was a little below average. The tent and patio were decent (no real complaints there), however there were a few things that made my Tentrr experience more than a little disappointing. First of all there was NO shower facility (your site specifically says there are showers, it even advises guests to "bring towels" on the checklist). When we arrived, the patio furniture was left strewn around the fire pit, so upon leaving, we were forced to place them back onto the patio (where they should have been in the first place). There was no firewood inside the tent heating stove (we had to gather firewood ourselves). Yes, I expected there to be no firewood in the pit itself, but not in the tent heating stove as well. The road was very difficult to find (perhaps a small Tentrr sign at the entrance to Main Entrance road would cause less confusion/frustration) And finally, a comment on the grounds: With the exception of a 5' wide path way from the road to the tent , and the 20' x 15' clearing near the tent, there was absolutely NO place to walk around/explore/ or "put our toes in the grass" (suggested on your site). The grounds were secluded enough (a highlight) but it was completely overgrown with 4' weeds/brush, which we avoided so my 6 year old wouldn't catch any ticks (which we surely would have if we left the very narrow camp area). This just felt like a huge let down, mainly because we were confined to a very small space and because the PICTURES of the Blooming Hill site portrayed what appeared to be an open field (which we were hoping to explore). It just really did not feel worth the relatively pricey fee that you charged for this below average campsite. So, all of these things would cause me to NOT recommend Tentrr in the future, which is ashamed because we had such high hopes and your site gives a very different/far more positive impression than what this campsite actually offers. I really never give negative reviews, it's just not worth my time, but this experience was unsettling enough, and I feel that I should notify whoever's in charge that the Blooming Hill campsite is NOT being kept up to the standards that your website appears to set.
