“This place is amazing, and so are the hosts. You drive up an immense driveway though lovely fields and rolling hills until you see your path to the camp site. A 1/4 mile walk through more fields, hills, and beautiful old stone walls revels a picturesque camp site atop the property. The views are second to none and the sunset will leave you speechless. The property is massive and beautiful with man paths to wonder down. The owner and the dogs couldn’t be nicer. It’s plenty secluded to do anything you want. Can’t wait to go back!”
“Camping at Connie's was overall enjoyable. The site does have a great view of the treeline and watching the sunset was great. The area is quiet although there is a small 2 lane road over the hillside and I heard a few cars speeding through late at night. Not a big deal but just realize you're not off the grid as the pictures might make you perceive.
The bads: Be aware that it is a quarter mile walk to the site, a bit uphill through hayfields. Connie has a small wagon that will fit a small amount of gear but if you plan on staying for a couple days, you'll be making a couple trips to the car with the wagon. Connie coincidentally happened to be free and was gracious enough to pull my stuff up in a tractor which was very helpful and appreciated.
Opening up the tent I noticed some dead insects on the front portion of the air mattress. The tent was sealed but the deck that Tentrr constructed left up to 1 inch gaps in the floor allowing small insects easy access into the tent. Not Connie's fault but something to be aware of. Also the air mattress itself as it turns out was in a sad state from the previous campers. The mattress deflated on my gf and I TWICE in the evening. This should have been inspected prior to our arrival. The "box toilet" also had bird drippings on it. Again this should have been checked out and cleaned up prior to our arrival. The grill top was a bit rusty but can be avoided using tin foil.
The goods: The view and surrounding scenery were beautiful and as nice as the pictures. Connie was kind enough to leave us flashlights, a lantern, hatchet, kindling, firewood, tp, paper towels, garbage bags, utensils, water, AND a mini homemade breakfast loaf. Not every site I checked out prior to booking had these amenities so it was nice to have them.
All in all a great location but the attention to detail is why I only gave this Tentrr site 2.5 stars.”
“It was a very nice trip!! Even the last day was raining but it still very good, the camp site is vet beautiful very private abd the host is super nice! Highly recommend!!!!”
“Three Dog Knoll was a beautiful site and Connie was a lovely campkeeper. She welcomed us with a delicious homemade loaf and plenty of firewood to keep us warm. The weather did turn on us, so we departed after just one night, but we would have loved to stay if the rain hadn't given us the boot. As the listing warns, it is a quite a walk from the parking to the site, so some sort of wagon would be helpful.”
