We camped here for two nights. The property is absolutely beautiful and feels like a haven far removed from the sometimes intense city vibe of Atlanta. The tent was well appointed and the owners made a concerted effort to ensure our stay went well. We saw a lot of wildlife in the area and the lake is well populated with bass which made fishing out of the canoes they had on the property a lot of fun. We requested firewood and the stack of hickory wood they gave us was more than enough. They also have pots, dishes, cups, a fire starting kit, a very nice Berkey water filter with 3 gallons in the tent, and the Tentrr loo was easy to figure out for someone that has never used a composting toilet before. The position of the tent in the trees went a long way to keep the area cool even during the hottest part of the day which was really nice because late summer or early fall camping in Georgia can be really warm. It actually was cool at night while we were there but they left us plenty of blankets so we were able to sleep comfortably. This would also be a great spot for people that like to do walks in the woods to identify plants, fungi, and birds. The lake has a large blue heron that we saw every evening while canoeing on the lake. They have chickens, horses, bee boxes, and other animals nearby on the land, but they aren’t so close that the noise is an issue, it adds to the peaceful background noise especially in the morning when you can occasionally hear the rooster in the distance. In fact, we found a honey bee in the lake and lifted it out of the water so it could return to the hive. This was our first experience glamping and we will definitely try it again in the future. It makes for a stress free camping experience and it was wonderful waking up to the sounds of nature so close to the city. Give this place a shot, you won’t regret it!

We absolutely loved our stay at Ramsden Lake, rain and shine. 100% would recommend taking the canoes or paddle boards out at sunset. The playing cards were also an awesome bonus. The place seemed very clean and it was well lit at night. Definitely would stay here again given the chance.

We were passing through Atlanta for one night and wanted a peaceful outdoor night near the city. The hosts met us and showed us to the site. They did a spectacular job of making us feel comfortable and welcomed. They had personal touches of bug spray and toilet paper. Being close to Stone Mountain park was a huge plus. We were able to do a 5 mile hike. Things were thought through for our needs and the private lake access was a nice surprise. We were the only ones in a canoe on the lake.
