Although we had a great weekend there were a couple of things I think SnugLife could work on. I wish the hosts were more responsive (pre-trip and while at the site) and found it odd that the hosts didn’t say hello when we got there. Additionally, the hike down the mountain to the campsite is no joke and I would suggest making this more clear (perhaps with photos?) on the website. My boyfriend cut his hand open walking down the mountain with the garden cart in tow (not the hosts’ fault, we just didn’t know what to expect of the cart’s abilities/how steep the decline would be). Overall we had a great time and the actual campsite is cozy right along the river!

This is NOT glamping. No electric, no plumbing, no water. The treck in is a little tough when you have to bring in clothes, food, bedding and other necessities, but the location is absolutely lovely and serene.

What an idyllic site for camping! Bring water shoes! During the day, the clear running stream that burbles along next to the site is easy to access, for wading and cooling off. As things quiet down after supper, the stream provides a soothing music that will lullaby your senses. The adjacent site for the extra tent is equally lovely, and the water is even more accessible from there. Read the FAQs etc, be prepared, communicate with the campkeeper, and have fun.

It is worth a bit of a trek to get to this secluded and beautiful campsite. We went on a very hot weekend, but it was cool and comfortable under the tree canopy, where the tent is situated. We also loved playing in the brook! The hosts were very nice.

Jody and Keith were extremely accommodating and perfect hosts. I booked the site at 3PM on the first day we wanted to camp, and Jody messaged me back in 25 minutes, saying they were on their way to get the campsite ready. She texted me specific directions, and there were signs posted nearly everywhere that made our parking spot and the way to the campsite clear. Within minutes of us getting to the site, Keith arrived and showed us around, explaining everything and even offering a little firewood if we needed it. (Remember that extra firewood is supposed to be a surcharge on Tentrr, and we didn't pay for that) The forest had 4+ inches of snow, but the tent's stove worked great, and we managed fine through the night. (I used Duraflame logs, which *really* simplified things) One thing of note is that the mattresses do NOT come with blankets or pillows as they are pictured on the website. Despite the picture, I figured the site would only be bedframes with air mattresses, so we were correctly prepared, but definitely do not show up without sleeping bags and/or blankets/pillows unless you're ok with sleeping on a bare air mattress. The one issue to be aware of is that the amount of land here is *massive*, and the campsite is a nontrivial distance from your parking spot at the house down a large hill and snaking through the forest before you find the tent near the river. They had a cart available for you to transport all of your stuff to the site, but I carried everything manually due to the snow. Keith and I agreed that the cart wouldn't work just after the nor'easter we had. I loved the remote feeling that the campsite gave with the sheer amount of land available to us, but the flip-side is that you have a pretty long way to go with your things before you reach the tent. So long as you're aware of this detail before you book, you should enjoy this site very much. Jodi was always reachable by text and was super responsive/helpful, so I'm happy to give them 5 stars for our stay. Very accommodating and understanding. Couldn't ask for more!

So Jodi was helpful and left very specific directions the day before we arrived. We didn't realize it was nearly 1/4 mile to the site from parking until then. The walk had a steep incline with a creek to cross with no bridge but 2 2x6's that we had to adjust to fit the cart to get across. There had been much rain that week so Jodi did tell us to stay to the left before entering the woods however there was no dry path. We were crossing 4-6 inches of water and despite wearing boots my feet got wet. Because we had to bring linens, wood, food and clothing my husband had to take 3 trips back and forth. We had to start the fire in the dark. There was also very helpful information in the tent itself regarding the wood stove. We would have benefited from the info ahead of time as we brought pine wood to burn. The wood stove heated up beautifully but after we went to sleep it only lasted 1 hour it burned so fast. We were so cold we were fully clothed with mittens and coats under our comforters and quilts. The air mattress was as cold as ice. The night was so miserable. My husband woke and packed us and we left early Saturday AM. However I have to say if you visit in the summer and make sure you pay for the owners to deliver wood to the site ahead of time it could be very nice. It was very pretty by the riverfront It would've been great if there was a bridge to get past the creek and a vehicle like a tractor to help get guests belongings to the campsite. I also think the length of the walk to the site should be included in the review because not everyone who camps maybe as physically fit as we are and it could be really hard to get to the destination.

The Snug Life is fantastic! The location is wonderful because you are close to civilization yet far enough away from it all that you can only hear the river flowing and the birds chirping. The campkeepers are so kind and they took the time to show us to the site and answered all of our many questions. If you get a chance to stay here, do it. It is the perfect retreat from real life.
