Tentrr is your private camping experience. We connect adventurers like you with private landowners who want to share their land so you can experience new places.
“We booked a weekend at Agfa Lake and Captain Max messaged to tell us they’d had some flash floods and the area was flooded. He was working hard to get it back in shape but it was still saturated. He asked if we’d be okay with his other site up the hill, Occanum Creek. We were fine with it, and appreciated him accommodating us at his other site on short notice.
When we got there—Captain greeted us and showed us to our site, and we were glad to have the other spot. It was secluded and in the middle of a great patch of woods with plenty of places to hike and explore. Our dog loved it too, and ran so much he wore himself out for the weekend in less than two hours of being there. We live in a small town with a small yard, so he absolutely LOVED running around in the woods and exploring the new area.
Max stayed a few minutes to show us around and tell us about himself. He also gave us some info about what there is to do at the site and in the area. He was an amazing host for many reasons, but also because he lives super close to both sites and told us to get in touch with him or just walk over if we needed anything at all. He checked in on us over the weekend to make sure we were happy, had enough supplies, and to let us know if he’d be around. We’re seasoned campers and used to roughing it in small tents or our car, but it made the weekend even better knowing we had Max around if we needed anything.
We really enjoyed the Occanum Creek site. It’s private and quiet, close enough to a small town if we needed to go to the market, and super close to a cute ice cream shop called Schoolhouse Creamery… delicious Hershey’s ice cream, and they offer a pupcone if you want to spoil your doggo. At the campsite, there’s plenty of land to roam and explore, plenty of deadfall for fires, a creek about a half mile away, the lake across the street, and quite a bit of both shaded and sunny areas for warmth or shelter. The tent is in great shape and the bed is comfy, plus we had some pretty significant rain overnight and didn’t feel a single drop of water. There’s also room to park and plenty of space for tents if you have additional guests.
We really loved our camp weekend and Captain Max made it even better. We hope to stay in touch with him and can’t wait to go back again soon! This was our first Tentrr experience and we’re already looking forward to our next.
Thanks, Captain, for a truly wonderful birthday weekend for both of us! We hope to see you again soon!”
“What can I say about Captain Max’s camping experience? For starters, he was a wonderful host and, honestly, a great man. He was very accommodating and helpful during our stay, even lending us his lanterns to use. His property is very beautiful, and Agfa lake is to die for. He brought out the canoes and let us ride around the lake. The area around the campsite is also very pretty and provides for a very peaceful stay. We stayed at the campsite in November with about 30-40 degrees weather; the provided heater and some sleeping bags kept us nice and toasty. The tent was able to accommodate three grown men comfortably. The property around the campsite stretches out for acres upon acres allowing for long hikes and time away from the stress and toils of work and technology. There is no other place I would recommend if you were looking for an escape from responsibilities. I humbly request that you give Captain Max’s campsite a try for yourself! Memories were made here!”
“Our stay at Agfa Lake was nothing short of incredible. Captain Max went above and beyond to make sure all of our concerns were met and was very proactive in his communication. 10/10 would definitely come back!”
“Max was so friendly and accommodating. His home is across the street from the site, and he checked in on us once a day. He also had recently gotten a new canoe which we were able to use at our leisure.”
“The stay was great! Because of the rain we did end up having to walk about 100 yards to our site and everything was very wet. However it was very peaceful. We went to a nearby park for a hike since there wasn’t much to do around the campsite.”
“This is the most special, secluded, picturesque Tentrr location. Sitting on acres of untouched land right on beautiful Agfa lake. We had the most special stay. Our host Max welcomed us with open arms…. he went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. It was one of the most memorable weekends. Swimming, fishing, meteor shower gazing…..
Will definitely be going back!
Thanks again Max! See you soon
