“We just returned from a 3 night stay at the Phillipsport Outpost. The site was very nice; nestled in the woods with ample privacy a short walk from the parking spot. The tent was comfortable and nearly bug-free. The Coleman fan was very nice to have as it was in the 80's during our stay. We saw a lot of wildlife including deer, turkeys, chipmunks, a variety of birds and one bear, which quietly passed through the site in the afternoon on it's way up the mountain. Overall, we had a very relaxing weekend. Highly recommended!”
“We were looking for a relaxing escape from the city for the holiday weekend. Phillipsport Outpost was exactly it! We were definitely
over-prepared. The description noted that all you really needed was sheets/pillows and that was right! All the typical camping necessities were provided: bug spray, propane, paper towels, TP, chairs, fire starter logs, a cooler, the list goes on! It made our stay stress-free. The Loo was very well kept as was the kitchen area (which is completely covered). It torrentially rained all night our first night and the tent stayed perfectly dry. Jerry texted to check in which was very nice. There were quite a few daddy long legs out but not their fault :) Spider spray was also provided. We will definitely be back!”
“We had a wonderful time at this site, and it was better supplied than several other Tentrr sites we've stayed at in the past. The access to running water and the covered cooking/eating areas were of prime importance to us. The little outhouse tent up the hill made for easy and private use of the loo. It was a bit of a rugged drive to get up the hill from the parking area to the tent site, so I'd recommend borrowing an AWD or SUV'ish vehicle for your trip. We were lucky to have dry weather...if it was wet the week before, there is a risk of getting stuck in the mud on the track. Stewart's is the best place for local beer, as there was no beer at the G Market. The wood stove within the tent was very effective, but be ready to reload it with wood in the middle of the night if it's cold out. Stars were beautiful, as advertised, and the fire pit was perfect. Will definitely be back next year!”
“My wife and I stayed at the Wurtsboro Ridge site Labor Day Weekend. The site was fantastic. The covered dinning and kitchen area helped make our stay even better. We got some rain while we were there and were able to cook and eat while staying perfectly dry. The camp has a Coleman 2 burner stove and a charcoal grill. There are also pots and pans of multiple sizes with cooking utensils. There is a water faucet and shower close to the camp. There is gravel spread out throughout the camp which was great. We were there a few days after the tropical storm dumped record amounts of rain in the area and that kept the ground from being muddy. Inside the tent, the queen memory foam mattress is really comfortable. There is a small wood stove for when the nights start to turn cold. The binder has a lot of great information about things to do in the area. I would recommend this camp if you are looking for a quiet place to go camping. The camp is so peaceful sitting by the fire.”
“It’s a beautiful site, in a private and serene location. Everything at this location came equipped, from kitchen supplies, to cleaning products, to lighter fluid, to bug spray, and more. This made it allot easier to travel and get set up. The town and surrounding towns were really cute too. It’s a small population so it’s quiet and relaxing but it still has great restaurants, wineries, trails/hikes, cool mom n pop shops, etc. There is a whole book in the tent that has a list of things to do, definitely check it out! I give 5 stars overall. If I were to give a couple warnings though, if you plan on showering, the water is quite cold. Just be prepared for that. We used the outside shower. The sun-shower (the other option) might’ve been better if it was sunny weather so the bag could heat up. We’re just glad there was a shower at least. And the drive up into the parking spot is a bit rough, more so if you plan on driving up to the actual campsite to unpack. It’s a little bit of a ways down from the parking so driving up makes it allot easier to unpack. We made it work with a car but a SUV or truck would be much more suitable.”
“This is by far the best tentrr site Ive visited. The owners have set up the site beautifully with everything you could need eg wood, insect repellant, a wonderful toilet, shower, firepit and more. It is wonderfully private and secluded and yet only a short drive to wonderful towns.”
