Tentrr is your private camping experience. We connect adventurers like you with private landowners who want to share their land so you can experience new places.
“Great site with plenty of room - there was a couple huge yellow jacket nests under the tent eaves so we stayed clear of that side. But awesome overall. LOVE LOVE LOVE the cooking station attached to the picnic table. That was so efficient!!!!”
“The state park itself is wonderful, very peaceful and beautiful. However this tentrr portion of the park is very noisy if there is more that just you there. Guests do not respect quiet hours and the host is completely unresponsive to assist with the issue. Tents need to be cleaned a bit better and outer covers need to be replaced. Your toilet is in your tent, interesting set up but don’t be alarmed when you arrive and there is no toilet or shower obviously set up. You have to set up the shower and the toilet is in the tent…
Also they made sure to tell us to take our trash to the dumpster or we will have a fine but failed to properly explain where the dumpster is. It’s not on the map they claim it is. It’s a 15 min drive to the front of the state park. (You are staying at the very far back corner of the park and do not enter through the main gate to get to the campsite FYI) we ended up calling Airbnb for assistance and they couldn’t even tell from the instructions.
We won’t come back.”
Hey there, thanks for your feedback here. Without honest reviews like yours, we wouldn't know where to improve. We are very sorry to hear that you had a less-than-ideal stay at one of our campsites. Since your review, we've gotten in touch with the host at this particular site and addressed some of your concerns. She is aware of them and moving forward with future bookings, will be more mindful of the items you mentioned. We will dig into the issue regarding the trash drop off point missing from the map right away and look forward to a fast resolution there.
Again, we apologize for the situation that occurred, but hope to see you out camping with us again soon - perhaps at another Texas State Park with a setting that would provide more of an element of seclusion, privacy and quietude. If you'd like to hear about other options, don't hesitate to reach out to us at hello@tentrr.com.
Cheers!
The Tentrr Team
“This is a cool idea. The tent was really sturdy and roomy. The mattress inside was surprisingly comfortable! The host was very responsive when I had some issues finding it. This location is actually in the park’s equestrian entrance, about ten miles away from the main park and not connected by roads, so if you want to access the observatory or other attractions at the main park, it’s about 15 min of driving to get there. There are also huge signs on the gate make it look like you’re in the wrong place. Saying, “go through the equestrian entrance” would have been super helpful. The tents are also pretty close to each other- I was concerned my kids talking at a normal volume was disturbing other campers. The info provided was pretty generic for all Tentrrr sites and didn’t give us specifics- for example: it said there was a solar shower setup but it didn’t say where, and we were leaving when I found it in the back of the kitchen cupboard. It was immaculately clean.”
