“It was not at all how it was advertised. First of all, there is a long hike (not walk) to the site. This is very inconvenient when you have to carry all of your stuff and then have to carry back the cooler of food since that may attract bears. Secondly, the site was very buggy and as soon as we got there a tick fell on my boyfriend's shirt. A total of 3 ticks fell on him and then later we found one on our dog. Thirdly, there was nothing to really enjoy at the site. We were basically in the woods of someone's backyard. Even though it was great for our dog to run around off-leash, it certainly was not appealing to us. There was a lot of information provided on activities and restaurants away from the site, but that completely defeats the purpose of camping for us. We had to stay the night as we were not going to drive back after hauling all our stuff. Around 11pm we heard several loud bangs that sounded like gunshots. Somewhere in the literature I read to be careful of hunting, but certainly I did not worry about this happening in the middle of the night!!! Needless to say, we packed everything up first thing in the morning and left.
I have stayed at much better campsites and paid way less! I paid extra for the set up but it was not worth it all in this case.”
“This tent is cozy and feels like you are completely isolated in a wonderful woodland paradise. The nearby hiking trails are spectacular. We twice had major car trouble and both times, the hosts went truly above and beyond to help us out, be patient, and take care of our needs.”
