Tentrr is your private camping experience. We connect adventurers like you with private landowners who want to share their land so you can experience new places.
“Stayed for two nights over Labor Day weekend. First off let me say, it's a beautiful property, lovely little creek right next to the main tent and you fall asleep listening to it burbling. The site itself is also nice, ringed by woods and easy to forage for kindling to start your campfire. There's also a large open field nearby, good for stargazing at night, and saw a family of deer there multiple times. Would recommend, and would stay here again.
Had a few logistical issues that I think the owner needs to iron out. We were told to call when we arrived for the gate code, but owner's phone was off and didn't respond to repeated calls/texts/Tentrr messages, so we ended up parking on the highway and hopping the fence to get in, finally got a call from Lauren at Tentrr at 6 PM with gate code, so that was an obvious hiccup.
Also, all the chairs were covered in leaves/needles/cobwebs when we arrived, would be nice if owner stopped by the morning a party was set to arrive to give everything a once-over.
Those are fairly minor complaints though, avoidable for future guests. Like I said above, lovely property.
Last thing - although I feel this was advertised when the site was listed as Zombie Proof - there is a gas station with snacks/coffee about five minutes away, anything else you have to drive for 20 minutes to get to civilization. Not a bad thing at all, just worth noting.”
“We recently reserved this campsite for 2 nights during a rainy weekend. I was concerned about the flooding in nearby areas but Renee assured me the campsite was fine. The campsite is high enough next to the river, which even with heavy rains, there wasn’t risk to overflowing the banks.
When we pulled in, we were so pleased with everything Renee and John offered. I only wish this was listed as part of the free extras so we could have left a lot more at home!
In addition to the normal TentRR set-up, there was bedding for the beds, extra camping chairs around the fire pit, a propane grill with extra small propane tank, pots/pans, silverware, mugs, plates, lanterns, games, cooler, etc.
We paid for wood and I was so happy to see it stored in plastic storage bins, given the heavy rains.
Even the portable toilet was enclosed in a pop-up tent, which could be zipped close for added privacy. A really nice touch. The only thing we would have preferred was that it not be by the open clearing (less privacy) and instead be closer to the tent (for middle of the night bathroom trips).
Area was private although we could see a camper somewhat close by through the trees. We were initially concerned about potential noise/lack of privacy but it turns out it wasn’t being used. There was no phone signal, as is typical out in the middle of nowhere.
Because of the rain, we brought a canopy for over the table which was a godsend. The site is heavily wooded so it provided a lot of shade and protection.
Area was easy to traverse for our elderly dog and she liked going into the creek. She did end up sniffing out a bees nest near the water’s edge and got stung a few times. We made sure our daughter and dog stayed away from that area and everything else was fine.
There were 2 wineries within 20-30 minutes of the campsite, so we checked those out. There were also some Amish markets/farm stands along the way.
Overall, we had a wonderful time and agreed this would be a place we would return to.
