Tentrr is your private camping experience. We connect adventurers like you with private landowners who want to share their land so you can experience new places.
“The actual home owner was very nice and helpful once I managed to get in touch with him. However TENTRR was completely useless and unhelpful when I asked for further information on location of the actual campsite. The address they provided while technically correct it is a ways from the campsite with no indication of where the campsite is.
Overall the site was nice the tent was clean and a good size and the air mattress was pretty comfortable considering. There is a wood stove that worked fairly well, the one slight inconvenience I ran into with the wood stove is it was not large enough to last through the night.
I would recommend contacting the actual host (Hugh) before you arrive especially if you know or suspect you will arrive after dark!! Also you will need at least a small suv ideally with 4 wheel drive to get to the campsite the path to it is not suited for small cars.”
“It rained 70% of our stay, I am unsure if this added to it, however, the bugs in the area are relentless. We had deet, off, citronella candles, tiki torches with bug repellant and they were still landing on us if we sat down. We literally ate whilst standing and walking. Mosquitos and some other super small flying bug. Tent was secure and we stayed dry. We also stayed warm using the small stove inside the tent for heat. Grateful for our host who came by with fresh, dry, firewood for us as well as clean trash bins. Campsite was truly great outside of the bug situation. We are avid campers, we are used to bugs, this was a lot. We were there the first weekend in July though so I bet it is less buggy in the fall. Great host, very accommodating and helpful. Site was exactly as described. Private, peaceful, and lots of amazing trails within walking distance.”
“The location of this site is the best feature. It is very private and near the falls. Unfortunately, the falls are dried up at this time but that was expected. The drought did help with the flying insects which were not bad at all. This was our first TENTRR experience and we seem to have had some communication issues with the host. I guess he missed the emails and phone call so was surprised we were there, initially. Once we met Hugh, he was great and came to make sure we had everything we needed. Our dog had a great time exploring with us. We would return to this site when the falls are running.”
“Wally Meadows was a lovely location; very quiet and secluded. This was definitely the most 'simple' Tentrr I've done- not much is provided in terms of 'extras' at the campsite. Bring all your own utensils and cooking gear, this site doesn't have anything there. The Tentrr itself is a bit dirtier than previous ones I've stayed at but it kept us warm. Bring plenty of bug spray.
If you're looking for a more rugged camping experience, this is a wonderful spot.
The camp keeper is difficult to get in touch with, I believe due to a lack of service in the area.”
“Was a beautiful setting and really secluded, gorgeous in the fall and the most serene getaway! Campsite was really well kept and couldn’t ask for a better site.”
