We had a great time at Brian's site! The tent is on a lovely pond and the fire ring and table are in a nearby field. We were totally secluded. There was noise from the train but it didn't bother us.

There were a lot of lovely things about this site. Brian was a terrific host. He was very helpful with making sure we were comfortable and providing things to do in the area. There was a ton of wood for our campfires and Brian also provided a 5 gallon jug of water and a place to refill. The location is very close to the Book Mill, a terrific, quaint store with used books. There's also a lovely spot next to the river to have a cocktail and a bite, right next to the Book Mill. And, for a hot summer day, there is a terrific swimming hole very near by. The water was very cold, but clean and refreshing. You may also be interested to know that the platform tent is in the woods, a short walk from the dining table and firepit, which are in the open field. There are just 2 cautionary comments-- one is the train nearby that others have mentioned in the reviews. This didn't disrupt our sleep, but it is close by, so you will hear it. The second one is the bees. The firepit and dining table are much closer to the bee apiary than we had imagined. Not great for anyone with a fear of bees or with an allergy. Our friend has an allergy and fortunately was not stung, however our dog was stung. Otherwise, we had a nice weekend visit.

I haven't read TentRR's business plan, but here is how my personal economy would work for camping: National Forest: free State Park or Private Campground: $30-$60 Glamping: $60-$150 Local Hotel: $100-$150. In that regard, TentRR was closer to camping than any other category, only I didn't have to set up the tent and the blow up mattress on a frame is more comfortable than a camping pad. However, for the price, I would go glamping or to a local hotel next time. Tent RR provided exactly what was advertised but I wouldn't pay $100-$150 for an experience that I can get for much less by camping. If TentRR were closer to glamping, I would definitely do it again and happily pay the fee. This would entail: sheets and towels, a mirror, the potty to be set up, and a wagon of some sort to transport my stuff from the car to the site As for this site in particular, I did not meet the host but he did provide free firewood and 5 gal of potable water. The downside of the site, as mentioned, is that the railroad stops nearby for an hour or so in the middle of the night and clangs cars together for the whole time. There is also a loud industry, (sounds like a sawmill), very close by during the week. It's a fine site but noise is an issue. In general, TentRR delivers what it advertises, it just isn't market competitive from where I sit

A really fantastic hideaway. Very secluded and private. Quite literally over the river and through the woods. And down the street from the cutest bookstore, breakfast spot, and delightful riverside restaurant you ever did see! The only *negative* I have to share is that there is a cargo railway nearby. For us, it served as great white noise throughout the night. No clanging or horns blowing, just a drone in the background. For very light sleepers, it could prove problematic (but then again, so might the crickets, tree frogs, and other creatures of the night).

Our stay in Montague was lovely. The campsite location is ideal because it feels very secluded and private, but is still a very short 3-5 min drive to popular breakfast places, and the Book Mill which we really enjoyed. The site’s amenities were basic, as firewood was extra and there were no cooking utensils. Brian was incredibly responsive and helped with whatever we needed. Overall, we enjoyed our stay.
