“I stumbled upon the TENTRR site accidentally while exploring a satellite map of a local hiking area, and I'm thrilled I did. With plans to visit friends and bring my dog, I unknowingly coincided with Cornell and Ithaca College students returning and a race weekend at Watkins Glen. Fortunately, I found the TENTRR site and booked a stunning spot. There was a minor issue with hidden hornets' nest, but a quick text to owner Steve resolved it promptly. The comfortable mattress ensured a sound sleep, and the night was graced by the hoots of a Barred Owl. Despite the secluded feel, the site is just 2 miles from New York 13, surrounded by numerous restaurants and stores. While my schedule was tight, I missed checking out the cidery, but it's a definite to-do for my next visit to the area.”
“Had a great time and the location is beautiful! Biggest issue was we could not get the heater to work and it was super cold! Would definitely recommend bringing sleeping bags and lots of layers.”
“Things of Note:
1.) There is NO heat source here, even though it’s in the listing.
2.) PACK LIGHT, you have to trek up a muddy hill with all your bedding. You cannot park your car near the tents. It’s a 7 minute walk.
3.) The Cidery this campsite is on is dissapointing, meager food choices, the cider is good though. But they usually close whenever they feel like it, usually earlier than the posted hours. The events calendar is also subject to change.
There is a real mess of information on the TENTRR posts. Since they have so many different locations and different standards of what is provided our rental did not meet expectations, no heater, no shower area, poor parking, poor access. The space was not cozy or inviting. It was NOT worth the price. This is NOT GLAMPING it’s camping with out the work of setup or breakdown.”

We are very sorry to hear that you had a less-than-ideal stay at one of our campsites. Since your review, we've gotten in touch with the host at this particular site and addressed some of your concerns. He is aware of them and moving forward with future bookings, will be more mindful of the items you mentioned.

“The area is amazing and there’s a lot to do. Only negative is there’s no actual shower or bathroom. Prepare yourself to do your necessities in the woods.”
“Great location and a bonus to have live music at South Hill Cider before tucking in for the night. Platform tent was clean, very much appreciated having the water jug. Lovely!”
“Great place for a quick or extended camping trip. Not far from town. Hiking trail right there. Buttermilk and Taughannock Falls are not far either. Not a huge cider fan, but South Hill cider was delicious and had a great variety available!”
“Site was absolutely beautiful. We did have some confusion as to where to go to park but other than that everything was as expected. Looking forward to returning at a future date.”
