“The Hemlock Gorge hideaway was perfect. I was looking for a place to be alone in nature and go fishing for the weekend. While I was told there wasn't much big fishing in the gorge on property they camp keepers sent me a few amazing local options for me to spend my day in the stream fishing which was really appreciated. The camp site itself was absolutely remote with miles of nothing but green in the distance. I would definitely com back.”
“We had a wonderful long weekend at the hideaway. The best part was the tent overlooking the open meadow which allowed us to get a full view of the sunset, the moonrise, and the night sky. Highly recommend!”
“This site did not disappoint, the host was very friendly and the supplies provided were great. We will definitely consider staying here again for future trips.”
“This Tentrr has all the essentials: firewood, potable water, light cooking supplies, a toilet, bedding, and more. As seasoned “rustic”/backwoods campers, it was really nice to not have to chop wood, filter water, or set up a site, and to sleep off the ground with a pillow! This location is very tranquil, on the back of the host’s farmland and just a quick drive to Ithaca. If you are looking for a more “wooded” area, this may not be the right site for you - it’s a very open space. The creek/gorge were pretty difficult to get down to, involving a scramble on all fours and scooting down on our butts, and we never found a ‘swimming hole’ as mentioned in the guestbook - some guidance from the host or a pointer on the booklet map might have been useful. Also, Tentrr and the host may both receive your communication and both respond separately providing different info, such as when check out time is or whether there is bedding provided (there is). We had a lovely time and look forward to many Tentrr returns.”
“What a wonderful weekend getaway spot. My favorite part was sitting around the campfire keeping an eye out for shooting stars. We had perfect weather except for a brief but refreshing rain shower our last morning there. We will likely return in the future!”
“This is a beautiful spot to get away to. Everything was so perfect from the amenities they provide to the fireflies lighting up the night to the constant gentle breeze to the faint smell of pine to the doe wandering through the field... this was the perfect reprieve to get away in absolute serenity. Felt like we were in our own world!”
“This place is great. Fantastic set up on a wonderful piece of private property. Everything outside food , cocktails & a few extra blankets are provided. I came into the experience having never used a Tentrr , most of my back country hikes & camping adventures im totally self reliant & self sustained. This place had everything , solar shower , firewood , cookware , plates & utensils , porta potty , Karl even asked me if i needed to borrow an axe (which i didnt) it was very much like the “hilton of camping” A truck is suggestible , the site is a bit more than a 1/4 mile from the road. A car can be done but its a bit dicey & not for the squeamish. The creek is a bit of a hike to get to & get down into but once you’re there its picturesque. The hosts were great with communication as far as booking , check in & check out & even provide a cell in case of any further questions along the way. You’ll see more deer than people here. Its a great place to get away but still be in comfort while doing so. Highly recommended if in the area. One big tip for any camper , always have materials ready to remake a fire quickly before you sleep for the night. You dont want to fumble around in the cold at 3am. The stove in the tent will keep the place very warm but it wont last 6,7,8 hours straight.”
