“We loved our stay at Rangeley Lake State Park and the Tentrr site’s location just outside of the main campground was ideal for our young child who could roam freely without disturbing or being disturbed by other campers. We enjoyed hiking around the area although wish the park had an actual beach and/or more robust recreation opportunities readily available.”
“Rangeley Lake State Park was lovely - it is a beautiful, well-maintained park close to Oquossoc and Rangeley, with so much to see and do!
This was my first experience with Tentrr, so I was not entirely prepared for the seclusion of the site. If you are looking for a private site and do not need campground services close-by, this is a great option. Since I was travelling alone with two young kids and a dog, walking out to the car (this is a carry-in site, which the listing did not mention) and driving to the campground (the site was about a mile from the campground in a secluded area) presented some challenges.
We stayed two of our three booked nights and Tentrr promptly refunded our fee for the third, unused night. In the future, a clearer description of the location of the site will allow for guests to better prepare to enjoy this beautiful site.”
“Wonderful spot tucked away back in the woods. Check-in (through the main campground) was easy and someone showed me back to the site itself. The tent was awesome, and withstood quite a torrential downpour with only a bit of minor leakage around the stovepipe. Otherwise, totally dry. The screen door zipper was broken, which made it hard to leave open, as I was afraid some bugs would get in. (Although, it wasn't that buggy.) Nice spot, would definitely recommend to others looking for a spot tucked away in the woods.”
“The location was great. I expected it to be more than a tent set up in the woods somehow. My mistake for not reading the fine print. I don’t think the price is justified by the accommodations. I will save a couple hundred and set up the tent myself next time most likely.
Great idea though. Just underwhelmed by what came with the price.”
“It is a short walk to site. Paths were wide and easy to follow. Privy were close by and very well kept and clean. Beautiful park. Nice path to beach. Have to remember to keep camping gear to a minimum as you will be making many trips to your vehicle which can be tiring. Picnic table is small and space is small but cozy. Enjoyed our stay. Bring a rain tarp just in case. You can take a short ride to main campground and take a nice free hot shower. And there’s even a place to wash your dishes in the bath/ shower area.”
