We love the woods. We overland as much as we can. This site behind a locked gate in the middle of the woods is blissful. Primitive camping at it's best. If you enjoy not being able to see your hand in front of your face and the sound of silence, then this is the place for you.

Overall it was great. However, I am glad we took our Jeep Wrangler because the ridge road (past the Overlook) was very rough for a typical sedan. Late October could be cold, but the nights were as low as 48F and we had cold-weather sleeping bags so we were fine. I mention this because the provided propane tank was empty. We were not given all the gate codes in the welcome e-mail, but were able to ask the front desk at the Lodge after hours and everything was fine. This particular site was super quiet (although I could hear distant traffic and planes), not much wildlife, easy access to hiking trails.

Excellent glamping site on the top of a mountain! Fyi, no views because it's covered in woods but you drive by the lookout on the way to the site. Not a drive up site, must carry personal items to site after parking on the trail, about 90 feet. Bring your own toilet paper but trash bags are provided. Also, there are 2 gates and the first one says it closes at sundown, gate code to second gate is provided. Very private and relaxing, definitely recommended highly.

Just looking for a campsite close to Cacapon SP for weekend events. The camp site was not, at all, convenient to Cacapon SP facilities. Then there's the camp itself, I don't get who would enjoy it. A seasoned hiker/camper does not want to stay in a bug infested "tent", might as well camp in your own tent or a shelter (e.g. AT shelters). Then there's the novice, they'd hate this no view, no facilities (privy, what a joke), bug infested "tent". Thanks, but no thanks.
