“The location was beautiful and the tent was clean and comfortable. Our host had great communication and offered us a head torch to use during our stay. We definitely plan on staying again in the future!”
“Campsite was immaculate and the property was even nicer. A stream a short walk behind the site and mountain views the opposite way. Will definitely be back again”
“Hosts were super friendly and accommodating. Property is beautiful with lots of birds and butterflies. Close proximity to great breweries, farms, and other outdoors'y things.
Stream is not conducive for fishing (at least at this time of year) as water level is low and will not support large enough fish.
Definitely do not need to buy extra fire wood, as there is an endless supply of wood within 20 feet of the camp.”
“Fantastic stay - welcomed late at night and guided to our campsite, which is very private, and otherwise left to enjoy the fields and woods of this perfectly situated site.”
“I would say the overall campsite experience was decent, given that the site, while pretty, was inconveniently located and the hosts were a bit rude. I have to say that the biggest issue was that you can’t park your car near the campsite and instead have to carry your things on a 5 minute walk (using a makeshift wagon) to get to the actual site. We had to make six trips back and forth just to bring all the necessary items from our car. In addition, the hosts were not the most accomodating as when we had taken some firewood from them after them having offered it to us earlier in the day, they then proceeded to send us passive aggressive texts saying we should have scavenged for our own wood and we didn’t know how to “survive” in the wild. We also had extra people come for the night, and we offered to pay extra for having more than 4 people on the site, but they instead started calling us liars. I would say it’s a fine place to go for a night but there are better options elsewhere.”
“We loved Dogwood Tree Camp! The site location had beautiful views across a meadow to the mountains, and we had fun walking down some of the paths and exploring the creek near the property. The campsite was also really well outfitted! We appreciated the warm blankets on the bed, and the well-equipped camp kitchen cabinet, plus plenty of firewood. On top of all this, Nicole was very flexible and greeted us when we arrived, and had helpful advice for our visit.
A couple things to be aware of. This Tentrr is conveniently close to NYC (only about 2 hours drive), but is also closer to town and roads than some of the more remote Tentrrs. This was made clear in the listing though and is probably a plus for some visitors. Additionally, the Minnewaska/Mohonk area is gorgeous, but on a warm autumn day, crowded! If you are going to be hiking, make sure to leave early. By mid-day, we found that every parking lot in the area was completely full. We still found a lovely secluded spot for fishing though.”
