Very nice peaceful location. It is near other houses and neighbors. But my family enjoyed their time there.

You'll feel safe with houses surrounding by, yet you have your own privacy. Beautiful waterfront where we enjoyed breath-taking sunrise. At night, we did star gazing and s'mores. The site has utensils that we forgot to bring with us. Overall, it's a great site for a short camping trip from the city.

Exactly as pictured and described - glad I read about the wet grass between tent and beach from other reviews - came prepared with water shoes and had zero problem. Had a wonderful time paddling to the nearby island! We usually backpack so this was a great first experience with a fancy setup!

This is a great place in theory, setup is great, they have everything you need to spend a couple days including access to water (not drinking water) and electricity. The fire pit near the beach is really nice. But, it had rained a day or two before we arrived and there’s standing water everywhere, above your ankles standing water. It was nearly impossible to find a dry spot to tie off my dogs. Speaking of dogs, the neighbor has a dog that roams free and will harass your dogs, it got in my truck at one point when the doors were open and the neighbor thinks it’s perfectly ok for her dog to roam free because it belongs there and you don’t. My advice is: don’t go when it’s rained recently and don’t take your dogs because while your dog is on leash not bothering anyone, you have to deal with the neighbors jerk of a dog. We left after less than 24 hours and called it a wash…. Sadly, this was our first family trip in over 2 years and it was a fail.

Hey there Theresa, thanks for your feedback here. Without honest reviews like yours, we wouldn't know where to improve. Since this review, we've reached out to the host and talked about the roaming dog situation. There is an understanding that when there are guests at the campsite, the dog will be less active on the property. I'm sorry that this was a less-than-ideal situation for you and your family. We always strive to give a great experience to our campers, and we hope you allow us to make it right and give us another shot. We would love to see you out camping again soon! Cheers! This was such a beautiful place, and the camp keeper and his wife were so kind! The pictures may not do justice of how peaceful and beautiful it is in here! If you are reading this review, this is a sign that you should totally book a trip!

This place is simply amazing - there is privacy, and yet civilization around which is what us beginners are looking for. Is beautiful and quiet but not scary … it is so nice and calm and safe than I slept like a baby on both nights, and I typically don’t get more than three or four hours of sleep every night. The camp keepers were so amazing. They were kind and super available. The pics don’t make this place justice! The road to the property is so beautiful, peaceful, scenic, it’s almost like the great introduction to your stay. The property has an amazing energy to it - it is almost like it’s been blessed with peace. If this place caught your attention and you are reading this review, take this as the sign you are looking for to make the reservation! Yep! Meant to happen, meant for you to spend some quality time at this property’s. Did I mention that my four year old was with me, and he absolute loved every minute of this trip? If you are into history you can visit George Washington’s and Monroe’s places of birth, located at only 40 mins from the site. Furthermore, there are some good eateries and a few distilleries, wineries on the area. There are a few Dollar tree stores, a convenience store, a few Food Lion groceries… you will have to drive around 15 mins for these but that’s nir bad at all. If you are a new camper and don’t know what to bring… bug spray, ziploc bags, and a good book you have been putting off for decades cause you were too busy! Enjoy this amazing place, it does love you back!!!

This place was an unexpected oasis!! Wayne was the most generous host. We were able to communicate easily with him throughout our stay. The property is so quiet and peaceful. The river was great for kayaking to the island full of seashells and sea glass. We will definitely be returning to this serene little piece of heaven!! 10/10 ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ Highly recommend!!
