Tentrr is your private camping experience. We connect adventurers like you with private landowners who want to share their land so you can experience new places.
“I took my wife here for her first ever camping trip/side trip on our honeymoon. We enjoyed camping at the site and had a great time. There were only a couple of issues. First, all of the pictures of the inside show the bed complete with covers and pillows, and that is what we prepared for. There was nothing but a bed frame and mattress, with no covers, pillows, or anything (there was a rubber mattress cover). Thank goodness I had a sleeping bag and blanket still in my truck from a previous campout. Second, the fire pit was rusted and the legs and bottom fell off. The burn ban had been lifted (unlike on the site), and we were still able to enjoy a fire in the pit, but it needed replacing. I'm sure that will be done before any other campers rent the site.”
“Perfect weather for camping in November besides the mosquitos that were still around. The tent was very spacious inside, the bed was doable, and the chairs outside were pretty comfortable. Tentrr informed me of a current burn ban in the area, so we were unable to light a fire this trip. Light sleeper will get woken up by the nearby train. The location felt very private and shaded, but campsite D did look to have more space. The state park was very nice and close to the beach.
The listing was incorrect saying a few things would be provided that were not - such as a 5 gallon water jug. Once I brought it to the hosts attention, they responded that they would immediately remove it from the listing, but it would have been good to know ahead of time.
Tentrr was very responsive over the Air BNB messenger, however I never got a response from the local phone number and email I was given to use. Also, no luck trying to get an early check-in time. Easy check in/check out process.”
“We picked this area because of the pool and Waterpark. Needless to say both were closed on Friday and Saturday. Didn't know that ahead of time eventhough I called. Was told there was staffing issues. It was super muddy (which we anticipated) and had to wear rubber boots while at the site. The bed was terrible. There is a metal bar that pushes in your hips no matter the position you try to sleep in. I ended up folding my blanket several times to sleep on top of and finally switched to the foot of the bed before I could sleep. There is a set of train tracks super close and it passed through twice during the night. So, not much sleeping going on. The park itself as well as the bathrooms were nice and well kept. You definitely need a generator and a fan but don't forget an outside light like we did.”
Hey Nicole,
Thank you for your feedback! It is with honest reviews such as yours that we can continue to improve our experience at the state parks and make sure campers have an awesome time. Since your review, we have made changes to the site description and have spoken with the park about what times and dates the waterpark is open and made sure that information is also reflected in the site description.
Cheers,
The Tentrr Team
“We had a great time. We did expect our water jug to be full on arrival so we had to take to another part of the park to fill it. Also, when we arrived there was a lock that we had to call to get the code for. We got a call back pretty quickly but there was panic for a minute or two. For camping the accommodations were doable. The bed wasn't very comfy and the plastic cover was SO loud but better than sleeping on the floor of the tent by far. I went with three kids. It rained so we didn't set up the extra tent but there was plenty room on the floor for 2 sleeping bags. There were bugs (spiders & roaches, but expected when camping). It was August so it was HOT! Next time I'll pack a battery operated fan. The site was shaded but also muddy with the rain. If you're trying to pick a site, D was much nicer but not shaded. Site A (double site) held a lot of water. Site B (also double) looked better. Bring bug spray & a thermacell. Mosquitos were brutal as were the ants in the area. These sites are really close to train tracks that will pass at night. All & all, we will be back to this park and others that have Tentrr sites.”
“Our experience with Tentrr and Buccanceer state park were good. The only compliant I have, is that there is a train track within 100 yards of the tents. We had two trains to pass by during the night. One at 2 am and once at 3 am and it was SO LOUD. Literally sounded like we were laying on the train track. Other than this, we have absolutely no complaints. Service was great and the experience was awesome!”
