Tentrr is your private camping experience. We connect adventurers like you with private landowners who want to share their land so you can experience new places.
“This is an absolutely gorgeous site. It's completely private -- the camp host (Trudy) has a cabin a few hundred yards away behind a screen of trees. Trudy made sure we had everything we needed - she met us in town to guide us up the dirt road. The tent had a true queen mattress on the lower bunk, a grill with side burner, and plenty of bottled spring water. Firewood is available for extra fee. Trudy also gave us some great advice on hiking in the area. There's a lovely hike up the nearest mountain literally steps from the tent door -- it starts on an abandoned and overgrown fire road which disappears entirely but after some easy bushwacking up, it connects to a granite jeep trail that goes all the way up the ridgeline to an old mountain / fire observatory now taken over by giant antenna installations. Views all around, blueberries everywhere, absolutely beautiful. The only thing to watch out for is the road in -- it's a dirt road and it has some uneven spots that were slow to traverse in our little city car - anything with a bit of clearance or with going slow will work just fine.”
“This place is awesome, especially if you are looking to enjoy some peace and quiet out in the woods. The tent looks out over a blueberry field, there’s basically no other houses in sight. It’s just a short walk up the road to a trailhead. Best of all, this place is easily accessible from Portland.
The only things to consider is that the outhouse is a bit of a jaunt from the tent and you need to be a little cautious on the drive up of your car has low clearance. I drive a bug and it was fine getting out there but had to swerve around a couple of spots.”
“Absolutely incredible experience, the perfect environment for getting out into nature. Trudy, the host, could not have been more helpful and kind. The space is secluded and quiet, with all the amenities you could need. Right near the campsite is a short hike to the top of the highest mountain in south-central Maine. Many thanks for having us Trudes, we are excited to visit again.”
“We absolutely loved our stay here in Buckfield! Trudy was a wonderful host and made sure we had everything we needed. She provided water, firewood, Trash bags, tiki torches, etc. The accommodation itself was very clean and well kept so we felt comfortable during our entire stay. The hike up to Streaked Mountain was amazing and well worth the views at the top! We would definitely come back here in the future.”
“We had a great time at this site! Trudy was awesome and made sure we had everything needed to get the most out of our trip.
Would definitely go again!”
“Nestled in the valley below Streaked Mountain, the camp site overlooks a beautiful meadow full of blueberries and ferns with giant maple trees scattered about. Our host, Trudy was very attentive and made sure our stay was perfect. Upon arrival, Trudy had supplied the camp site with 10+ gallons of water from a local spring (Cooper Spring) which was delicious! My wife and I woke to chirping birds and deer in the meadow outside the tent. Trudy gave us a tour of the property and shared stories of her long history on the site. Given the opportunity to return, we hope to take the hike from the campsite that leads to the top of Streaked Mountain.”
