“An absolutely beautiful view from this location.
Very quiet serene atmosphere.
We enjoyed siting on the porch as well as walking down to the water.
Booking was a very easy process, nice friendly people willing to answer all my questions.”
“Goods and Bads. Bads- One of the tent zippers is broken, it was the screen zipper for the front door so we had to sleep with the canvas zipper closed, blocking the free flow of air on a hot evening. The cooking grate is nearly fully rusted and was in pieces all collapsed when we arrived. We hacked it back into something resembling a cooking grate but it badly needs to be replaced. Hard too cook over the fire. There is a weird fire pit to the side of the tent that isn’t very useful or attractive. No prepped firewood.
Goods: Great location and view. Very private. We thought we would have to walk a long way but parked just behind the tent about 30 feet away. Tent was great other than the broken zipper. Chairs were superb. Dining table set up was super too. Proximity to the restrooms and splash pad was nice, not too close, not too far.
Our first Tentrr. Would do it again.”
“We absolutely loved our stay! The campsite is very private, & overlooks the water. Showers & bathrooms are a short drive. Stores are close by as well, so we were able to maintain our firewood & ice for the ice chest. Beautiful sites! We will definitely return.”
“First time using Tentrr and it was a great experience. Site G was the best location if you're looking for quiet and a little isolation away from the other camping sites. The site faces the lake and has all the convenient amenities you would need for a pleasant weekend. The campkeeper answered any questions I had beforehand regarding the site. Perfect star viewing on a clear night due to the lack of surrounding lights.”
“Overall a great trip my son loved it. Giving 4 stars because we ran out of propane at about midnight on night 2 and had to leave they will refill them but no one was around. Still a good experience. We plan on going back. We saw a bald eagle within the first 10 minutes which was a first for me. I definitely recommend”
Dusty - Thanks for your review and glad to hear that you and your son enjoyed your Tentrr stay at Chicot State Park. We are sorry that you ran out of propane during your stay and are currently revisiting our process for supplying propane on multi-day stays to prevent this issue in the future. Thanks for bringing the matter to our attention! We hope to host you again in the future.
“Highly recommend this site! Our camp keeper was great and tentrr as a whole was wonderful at communicating and responding to emails. Tent was mostly as expected, no sun shower and no heater, but it wasn’t cold and we didn’t need it. The fire pit wasn’t really “set up.” The swivel leg for the grill grate was found under a bunch of leaves on the other side of the campsite, which makes me feel like they don’t really “get things set up” for you. But otherwise it was fine. The location was great! Alligators were close to the site Bc you are very close to the water, if you don’t want to see alligators, I’d suggest a different site. We literally saw 2 other humans in the whole time we were there. The park was very empty. The restrooms were maybe a 1 min drive away and VERY clean and air conditioned. The water carrier was filled when we arrived and that was wonderful for washing our hands etc. Check in at the front office was easy. Getting to the site was easy if you look at the map. But I don’t think the site itself was labeled. I wish the fire pit had been a little bit bigger for cooking purposes but it was good enough. I loved having the table and cabinet thing Bc it made everything easier when it comes to meal prep. Just for those who aren’t aware, the bottom of this tent is not carpeted. It’s a canvas tent set up on a wooden deck platform. Meaning the tent is not all one piece. There are holes/ spaces between every plank of wood. We saw a few lizards sneaking in through the wood so we used a large tarp and cover the decking and it was fine after that. Kept bugs out of the tent as well. All in all highly recommended! And we will certainly be back!”
“This site is great. The view of the lake is impressive, and it is secluded from the other sites. I would definitely recommend it, and the Tentrr experience was worth the money.”
