“I had the most amazing time at MorningRise this weekend. It was the perfect, beautiful escape from NYC. I loved the setup that was all ready for us, and the gift bag and welcome was so sweet. It was lovely having hiking trails right there for running around the property. Also, Monica and Joe were the best hosts. My boyfriend and I unwittingly forgot all bedding, and they accommodated us even though they didn't have to, it was out of the kindness of their hearts. Thanks so much Monica and Joe, hope to see you again soon!”
“Our stay at Morning Rise on Monica and Joe's 200 acre property in the Catskills exceeded our expectations in every way. First, a bit about us: we are a family of four with a 2 and 4 year old, plus dog (read: a lot of gear). We wanted something easy but not over-crowded and loud. Morning Rise was perfect. We arrived at night(!) with two sleeping children. Both Joe and Monica greeted us. Joe loaded up our gear in his tractor and ferried it over to the site. Monica warmly welcomed us with a bag of treats. When we got to the site, we were thrilled to find it prepped and ready to go, complete with water and wood! We simply set up a pack and play, unrolled sleeping bags, and went straight to sleep. The tent is 10x12 and more than big enough for a crib, a child on the floor, a dog bed, two adults, and bags... not to mention the wood stove! Amazingly easy. Over the next few days we explored the property, playing in the river, hiking up the valley, and just running around getting dirty. There's another Tentrr site on the property, as well as a couple houses, but you can't see them from Morning Rise and we felt as if we had the run of the place. Joe and Monica are there to help and chat with, if you'd like, but will otherwise give you space to do your thing. Canoeing on the reservoir was also super fun, and Joe made sure we were set up with everything we needed before sending us off. Challenges included 30 degree nights and a day of rain. The wood stove helped immensely, but it will go out after a couple hours and getting the hang of it took a while (tip: open tent up while you get fire going to avoid smoking yourself out!). The tent held up during a day of rain, with a few small leaks but nothing serious - I doubt our family dome tent would've fared as well. In sum, this is a lovely property, with amazing hosts and we would be so happy to return!”

“Monica and Joe were lovely hosts, and were kind enough to let us borrow some bedsheets and pillows (which we forgot to bring). The campsite itself is in good condition, very private and set up right at the treeline. We had several jugs of water waiting for us, the firepit was just a few feet away from the tent, and the metal grill was easy enough to use or remove. We didn't see a sun shower, but FYI... the toilet is very simple, clean, and easy to use so don't be put off by the idea of it (it's a wooden box with a toilet seat placed over a bucket, lined with a special bag filled with gelling chemicals). We had some bad luck as it rained and thundered all night, but the good news is that it was bone dry in the tent (and it was easy to zip up all the windows and openings). The only advice I have is to remember to bring your own headlamps/candles and bug spray.”
“This was our first Tentrr experience and it was pretty great. Monica, Joe, and Duke are the absolute sweetest. They had goodie bags for us upon arrival, water and firewood set up and ready for us, and a truck at the ready to cart our stuff over to the tent. They were truly there for anything we needed. Definitely rent the boats - canoeing in the reservoir was the highlight of the trip. Thanks Monica and Joe (and Duke) - it was a great weekend!”
“Absolutely gorgeous campsite and equally amazing hosts. Monica and Joe were there to receive us when we arrived, helped carry luggage to camp site and got us settled. We were first time campers and the whole experience was so pleasant that we decided to come back again soon.”
