“Kenny was an excellent camp keeper and made us feel very welcome. He was patient with our delays in arriving, was happy to show us around and had the place stocked with everything we needed. The site itself is peaceful and selcluded, without being too far from the house. Being surrounded by the trees like at Spirit Camp was a very special experience. We took a trip to Minnewaska State Park which was excellent for a hiking. Delicious pizza and great fire pit at The Country Inn just down the road from kenny's. The coffee is great at Carthaight in Stone Ridge and the bagels at Bodacious are awesome! Definitely recommend this spot.”
“My boyfriend and I spent a weekend at Spirit Camp and we would 100% return again. Kenny was more than available to us, giving us multiple suggestions on places in the area to dine, hike, etc. Not only that, he gave us pretty much unlimited firewood, making cooking and keeping warm a breeze. The campsite itself is very close to the main road, which made it nice and easy to travel around the area but we still had total privacy. Upon our departure, Kenny graciously gave us farm fresh eggs from the chickens he keeps at his home (which barely made any noise in the morning hours). All in all, we would return to this campsite in an instant and will greatly miss the quiet getaway we had there.”
“Spirit Camp was the perfect weekend getaway! Kenny provided great directions and the site was kitted out with everything we needed. The site felt totally private and secluded but was still a quick trip for supplies or a nice hike. We loved our visit and will be back again!”
“The site was remote enough to feel secluded, but also a convenient quick drive to the supermarket. The setup was nice and the camp is secluded in a shaded wooded area. There is a ton of space to really spread out and enjoy nature. You are minutes away from incredible hiking trails, water falls, woods, beautiful watering hole for swimming! There was a big rain storm my first night there, and wood burning stove in the tent and keep us very warm once you add some wood to the fire in the stove! They also had additional small charcoal grill with charcoal for your convience. The camp has most of the equipment ready so we didn't really have to bring anything extra. They provided clean and comfy bedding at the site as well as a bundle of firewood. Kenny was helpful and friendly- Also, I was a single woman with a young son camping and I felt super safe. I was so comfortable and at peace at this site. It was a perfect way for my son and I to bond and unplug. “We had a great first Tentrr experience this past weekend at Spirit Camp! The site itself was amazing and equipped with everything we needed. Kenny was an amazing host and even lent us flash lights when we left ours at home and gave us directions into town. Would love to stay here again!”
“Beautiful, well-kept campsite. Kenny was a gracious host who went above and beyond his duties. He insisted we take some of his chicken's eggs with us when we left.
A couple logistical things:
- The address on Tentrr is Fischer Road but it's actually Fischer Lane. GPS had a hard time finding the right street.
- Activities (hiking, restaurants, Woodstock) are a drive from the campsite so would recommend planning beforehand because cell service is spotty.
