“Unique secluded location. However, the mosquitos were absolutely miserable, all day long, unbearable without 30% sportsman deet which I hate having to use on kids especially. Lots of standing water in the forest glade area. The cabin wasn't dirty, but it also wasn't very clean. There were two bathrooms in the dining hall as stated in the description, but the women's was closed our entire stay, so that was disappointing and there was also no hot water in the sink for the other one. No paper towels, no dryer, and no hooks or shelves in the bathroom either. Those are small things, but they are annoying. The portable toilet was clean. The beds are not comfortable, really hard. Overall it wasn't worth paying $517 for 3 nights given the mosquitos and bathroom situation. If it was cheaper I would return in the fall when mosquitos die down.”
“Roomy but lacking character. Two toilets but were broken. Loved the isolated woods compared to the campground. Vault toilets on site
No showers. Drinking water went from light orange to deep orange. Nice fire pit and seating
Probably won't book again.”
Thank you for taking the time to leave a review, Diane. We are glad that you enjoyed the Tentrr accommodations, but are so sorry that the park facilities were lacking. We are following up with the park now to dig into the issue with the water and the restrooms and are looking forward to a quick solution. We hope to see you on another Tentrr adventure soon!
“The cabin was very nice and roomy. The only suggestion I would make would be to replace the shoe moulding. The outhouse was nice and clean, but the women's bathroom did not have toilet paper and the toilet wouldn't flush. Showers would also be a great improvement!”
“The cabin was nice and clean. We didn't need to bring much with us,so it was more convenient than traditional camping. There is a flush toilet nearby. The Tentrr site is isolated from the main camp grounds and it was early in the week so it was very quiet. I only wish there was a closer shower facility. Overall very nice. I would stay in one again. Please put some in the UP parks”
“The Cabin and location was fine. The only issue was the bathroom situation, the two single stalls were not clean and eventually broke down during our stay. The outhouse on site was absolutely disgusting. The main campground (around the corner, about a 5 min drive) had clean bathrooms/showers but definitely not ideal to drive in the middle of the night to use the restroom.”
Hey there Stephanie,
Thank you for your feedback! With honest reviews like yours, Tentrr can continue to improve the camping experience for everyone who wants to experience the outdoors. We are very sorry to hear that you had a less-than-ideal stay at Sleeper State Park. The park provides the bathroom and outhouse amenities and so when they broke down it was something that was out of Tentrr's control. We understand that the stalls are older and that the outhouse is old-fashioned but our hosts take care to make sure they are clean and ready to use for campers.
Again, we sincerely apologize for the situation that occurred, but hope you give Tentrr another chance in the future!
Cheers,
The Tentrr Team
“Cabin was great with plenty of room and nice amenities (fridge w/freezer, coffee maker). Bathrooms in dining hall could have used some attention. Trash was overflowing by Saturday afternoon (maybe a bigger garbage can?). Also, could have used a hook for shaving kit when brushing teeth/washing face.”
“The Cabin we rented for one night was clean, the area was well kept, and quiet, and the chairs and picnic table were nice to have so we didn't have to lug a bunch of supplies. We did end up running out to purchase a bigger fan for the cabin, We had a great stay and I look forward to renting again.”
