We really enjoyed our stay! The property was beautiful and it felt remote. Easy ins and outs. Great fishing.

We had an amazing stay at Cold Sulphur Springs Campground and hope to return soon! Everyone was very pleasant and the campground itself was wonderful! The bathrooms were updated and clean at all times, endless wood supply, and cool trails surrounding the lake! Whether you want a family vacation or a romantic getaway this campground is perfect!

I really enjoyed my overnight stay here. (Site was actually #61, and not "1" as the title implies.) This was by far the most peaceful and quiet campsite I've ever stayed at. It helped that I was the only tent camper in an area that appeared to have only 2 tent sites (there may have been more - I didn't explore the whole campground). I arrived at about noon, and didn't hear any human-made noises (other than my own) for almost 3 hours, which was just perfect! There is a large, mowed, grassy area between the site and the bathhouse, which is maybe 40 yards away. The bathhouse is serviceable, and clean enough; although as stated in the description, the tap water does smell a bit sulphery. On the other side of the campsite is a slight slope that leads down to what appears to be an old logging trail. Go left and it's a short walk to the lake, which many might call a large pond. It's a really nice, tranquil setting, and there are a few boats to rent for exploring or fishing. Heading in the opposite direction takes you down the logging road into the woods, and into even more blissful seclusion. There are several other trails that branch off, offering plenty of opportunities for exploration. I went maybe a half mile on the primary trail, until it came to a T-junction. I didn't want to go too much farther and risk becoming a "statistic", so I headed back after that. There is a picnic table and firepit at the site, and there are firewood bundles on offer for a reasonable fee. The site is nice and distant from other campers, which is exactly what I wanted. There were quite a few RVs parked farther up the slope, but they are far enough off so that you don't hear constant chatter like at some campsites. Overall I really enjoyed this place, but just to give a thorough review, there were a couple of (very minor) negatives: 1) The site didn't really have a completely level spot for a tent, so I had to be careful about the angle of my sleeping bag. 2) There were brief spurts, for maybe 1 hour overall, of a circular saw running, around 3pm or so. Probably just working on some improvements or maintenance to the campground. Neither of these were more than a mild inconvenience for me, but, again, just mentioning them to be thorough. Overall, totally recommend this place.
