“Stayed here in August 2019 and we loved loved loved it. Was not sure what to expect before arrival but when we pulled into the site, it was beautiful. The site had all the amenities it advertised and it was nice to not have to set up a tent. It was very secluded which was a bonus and being so close to Lake Superior was additionally pleasant. Loved listening to the sound of the waves hit the shore as you sit by the fire at dusk. It did rain one day really hard, and the tent held up well and kept our items dry. The site was clean and the beach was beautiful.
The only issue we had was the fire wood provided. It was soft pine wood and it was rather wet so we could not get a real fire started. I ended up going into to town and purchasing firewood. Not a big deal.
If you like the outdoors and a good adventure, this is just the place for you. There is so much to do within a 25 mile drive, yes... it is in the middle of no where, but that is to be expected in the U.P. And the host, Rolly was available to answer any questions we had, like location of the entrance as we drove by it a couple of times. Very accommodating.”
“Had a blast here even tho 1st day it rained and both night got blew freezing but don't worry bout that the wood stove heater kept tent super warm and cozy. Sitting out on the little deck eating smores and staring at the stars was pretty dope with sound of waves in back ground. Also waking up and watchin sky change colors during sun rise for breakfast lake front definitely Worth it. Getting there is kinda of a pain the road is a bit tonight and gos take u bout half mile shy of spot it's self but email from host helped save on time trying to find spot”
“This site is beautiful, and has everything you need to go rustic camping. its a ten minute ride down the dirt road directly off of the main road. It will be on your left had side and you will see a plastic chair on top of a boulder. That is the entrance, it is not labeled.”
“Very cute little place to stay. Location was great, very secluded but yet only about a 30 min drive to popular destinations. Campsite was clean and had all of the amenities that were listed! Would highly recommend if your looking for something secluded and off the grid”
“My husband and I had a great first Tentrr experience! The site was very private in the middle of the woods, yet right on the beautiful Lake Superior shore. It had everything we could possibly need and was very neat and clean. Rolly was easy to communicate with and made everything easy. We would definitely recommend this experience and look forward more in the future!”
“Great location on a private campground just off of the water. You can see the water through the trees. Beautiful sunsets and spectacular starry night sky. 23 miles from Munising and National Painted Rock Lakeshore. Basic Tentrr amenities met. Row boat and kayaks available for extra. Easy launch from shore. The only suggestions we have are most likely related to working out the wrinkles of what we perceived as a new Tentrr location. Specifically, the Tentrr mediated messaging system between host and camper seemed buggy. Thankfully, a Tentrr customer service person helped convey important information to us on how to gain access into the site. We also had the host’s number, and he was responsive within an hour or so. Also, because we are conscious that we are using someone’s property, it would be helpful to have more site-specific customized instructions and information as part of the Tentrr guidebook on site - not just the basic manual that we received via email confirmation. For example, helpful information would include what do we do with the trash and how do we access the life jackets for the row boat we paid extra for? Also, the host has a large RV on the camp site that didn’t impede on our experience. We certainly didn’t touch it or the equipment around it, but “rules” about that would be important to have. We are low-maintenance folks so it wasn’t a huge bother, because the host responded when we texted him, but this is the type of information that would help us be respectful and mindful of the campground overall. Finally, UP Michigan is indeed buggy (read - lots of mosquitoes) this time of year. This camp site isn’t immune, but we were prepared with good bug spray, so it wasn’t an issue, and we enjoyed ourselves. Thank you! We’d use Tentrr again!”
