“Amazing views! Came for the sand dunes which was still about a 45 minute drive away but a beautiful drive. Perfect campfire and chairs. We brought our own bedding and forgot to get propane for the heater so it was a bit cold at night but that was our fault. We did not see any mice like other reviews however they did keep us up at times throughout the night along with coyotes howling. Overall had an amazing time”
“There were multiple dead baby mice just underneath the provided bedding. We heard mice noises throughout the night. It was a easy process to get to the site etc. it was just very unfortunate to find multiple mice in our bed.”
“This stay really challenged my husband and I, we camp quite a bit but usually at camp grounds. This place is very, very remote. We definitely were not prepared for what we were coming into, don’t get me wrong, we still had a blast and the not being prepared was 100% on us not the owner. My suggestions, bring flashlights/lamps, check the garbage for mice the second you get there (save yourself a night of “what in the world is that noise?!” and be very prepared if you are going to the sand dunes, there is no shower to wash yourself off at the end of the night!”
“AVOID!!!
I tried to contact the Campkeeper several times prior to our trip without success. When we arrived, the tent was very dirty and we immediately noticed the bed was covered in rodent feces. We took pictures and left immediately. When I called Tentrr to report the problem they had me send pictures and complete a lengthy incident report (also—this should be done internally rather than place additional burden on the customer). I called multiple times to follow up, and was told every time that the person handling my case “just stepped out of the office but will call later today/tomorrow.” It’s been 2 weeks and no one at Tentrr ever got back to me. Awful experience, do not recommend!”
Hey there Christy, thanks for the feedback on this one. Without honest feedback like yours, we wouldn't know where to improve. Since receiving your review, I've reached out to the host of this site. They were out of town and had hired a management company to go and manage the campsite. When he arrived he was very disappointed by the lack of upkeep and wanted to apologize for the state of the site. Without your review, he would have never thought anything about his campsite being neglected. We did see that you filled an incident report, which has since been solved, we apologize for the delay in the response. We hope to see you out camping soon, and again, we apologize for your less than ideal stay.
Cheers!

“I thought I could pull my car close to the tent to unload. There was zero clear clue what little dirt path to pull car into and the one I did my car got stuck in the sand and cost me $200 to pull out that was not in my budget. Had the car towed and parked on the main road that was a walk though walls of dry sharp rabbit brush. Also all the solar panels connected to the hanging lights inside were blown face down and we didn’t bring any camping lights since there was supposed to be some. Also there are ZERO sheets or blankets and we only brought one blanket, froze our asses of ALL NIGHT. Also there was not ANY cooking supplies as said in description and all we had was food that needed to be cooked so we starved. Not fun.”

“We had intended to spend the night here but with red flag warnings for the entire county regarding dangerous winds from 30 to 40 mph with gusts up to 90 mph we did not stay at this location and we are in the process of trying to get a refund. The communication has been lacking. If you plan to book Tentrr do it through their own website and not through Airbnb. We are getting the run around and I doubt we will get our money back.”
“Gorgeous spot only 20 min from the Sand Dunes! It was windy when we were there...that was the only issue as this spot has no trees or anything to break the wind. But if it had not been windy it would have been perfect. All the Tentrr amenities were great, everything was clean, the tent was top notch.”
