“Absolutely perfect way to spend a quiet night in nature but not too far from anything. The host was amazing with communication and making sure the place was set up.”
“Beautiful and serene campsite with more amenities than expected! While located on the edge of a residential area, this campsite feels private as it's set at the base of an embankment along the Red River (shallow/lazy river). There is a steep trail to get to the campsite that requires an effort of hiking although the host was very accommodating and drove myself, my two dogs and gear (on a 4 seat, with cargo bed ATV) down when we arrived and back up in the early morning when I needed to leave. There is firewood to purchase and additional things to rent like a generator and kayaks. Even with a neighborhood nearby, it was peaceful and quiet overnight. I was surprised to find pillows, blankets, an indoor fireplace, cooking supplies, solar lights, and other additional items already set up when I arrived. The host definitely cares about his camper's positive experience. While there are not hiking trails, there is a trail to the river that I was able to hike up and down and explore with my dogs. If you are looking for a cozy and quiet getaway (or a nice campsite during your travels like myself), this is an unexpected charming spot!”
“He was more than accommodating. He let me rent his generator, and borrowed me his fan! He even had a bear with me. He was very kind and accommodating- I can’t express that enough! And the property!!!! Is absolutely great! It’s good for people who like short medium level hiking lol cuz the trip back up is a beast lol but it’s the cost of privacy!”
“This campsite is absolutely gorgeous! Don't be fooled by the urban setting to get to the site!
This is a primitive style campsite: be prepared for a but of a hike to get to the tent. The site is rustic, a true back to basics camping experience. Bring bug spray and a couple of flashlights (there are some provided as well).
If you are looking for a glamping experience, this is not the site for you. If you're an adventurist, it is!
The host is super friendly and will offer to give a ride on his UTV to the site if you'd like.”
