“This was an absolutely amazing experience. Eileen and Bobby are wonderful people who go above and beyond. I thought 4 days was going to be too much but we probably could have stayed longer. We have spoken with multiple friends about our experience and they are looking at going as well. Waking up on the river, starting a fire, throwing out a fishing line and swimming in the river were just some of the activities we did. We also went biking and enjoyed swimming in the saltwater pool. Looking forward to going back in the fall when the leaves change.”
“We had a wonderful weekend at this beautiful, serene spot, perfectly named Tranquility on the River. We caught fish right there, swam in a nearby lake and had great campfires (when it didn’t rain!). The camp host, Eileen Downes, was amazing - so kind and helpful, offering suggestions on what to do and always making sure we had enough wood. We had a truly beautiful stay and are very grateful for the chance to camp in such an idyllic location.”
“I must say we (meaning my girlfriend, myself and our 2 dogs) have camped and airbnb'd waterfront properties from the Poconos to that Catskills and all in between. Hands down Tranquility on the River was the absolute best! Eileen was the perfect host. The immaculate site was secluded, peaceful and right on the river! It had everything we needed. Inside was roomy and comfortable. There was a plethora of wildlife. We swam in the river with the dogs and fished right from our site. We found the "Gem" and I would recommend this little part of heaven on earth to any and everyone. I would also give it 10 stars if I could!”
“Just returned from a wonderful mini vacation to Eileens' beautiful property. We arrived Friday 7/23 and were met by our gracious hosts Eileen and Bobby we followed them by truck to our very private site which was located literally 5 steps from the river. We had great weather and a beautiful view.
There is a beach area on the river about 2 minute walk from the site. However, directly at our site my hubby just hopped down the bank and practiced his fly fishing in front of our tent, most importantly he CAUGHT A WHITEFISH! As we had our pups with us, it was nice not to have the "beach area" directly in front of the tent otherwise our Redbone would have been soaked all weekend LOL.
Saturday we went for a visit to the local farmers market in Crawford stocking up on goodies, had lunch, visited a few shops then headed to New Paltz a neat hippy style tourist town only 1/2 hour away. Back at the camp hubby made a gourmet meal YUM.
We loved that so much was provided. Getting older, we no longer want to sleep on the ground and have to break down the whole camp before heading to home. From the memory foam mattress, to headlamps, cooking utensils, cleaning supplies, firewood, and even sage clearing spray for the room to chase away all the bad juju. Eileen and Bobby have this place very well stocked.
TRUST US...you will NOT be disappointed, this truly was Tranquility on the River and then some!”
“Tranquility on the River is a beautiful camp site right on the river. We enjoyed fishing on the river, walking the river looking for crawfish, and canoeing. There is nothing like a campfire overlooking the river at night. Eileen the host was absolutely amazing and took care of us, her property was also beautiful. I would highly recommend staying at Tranquility on the River!”
