“Pros: Spacious tent, beautiful park, large campsites allowing for privacy from neighbors, comfortable mattress, portable toilet handy for little kids who don't like to squat in the woods, beautiful woods surrounding campsites for kids to play in near the lake
Cons: Carpet inside tent was dirty and musty (Why have carpet in a tent?), tent needed dead bugs dusted out, fire pit missing a leg so wouldn't sit evenly, site location is beyond walking distance from park's flushing toilet/bath houses
Bottom line: This is a good option for those who don't want to set up their own tent or sleep on the ground, but the tent and firepit need some cleaning and maintenance. If you already own a comfortable tent, I would opt for just using it over this option, as the dead bugs and musty carpet in the tent grossed me out. Although I did really enjoy sleeping on an elevated mattress, and the surrounding area is beautiful!”
Hey there, thanks for your feedback here. Without honest reviews like yours, we wouldn't know where to improve. We are very sorry to hear that you had a less-than-ideal stay at one of our campsites! We've gotten in touch with the host down at Chicot and she will be doing an overhaul on all of the carpets. They do make a big difference in insulation and providing a barrier against the bugs out there. Unfortunately, those pesky bugs are a natural aspect of camping!

“We had to leave early because the heater did not work in one of the tents so we were just worried we would get too cold the second night. The weather was a little cooler the second night.
Otherwise, we had a great time. The site had everything it said it would have.”
