Tentrr is your private camping experience. We connect adventurers like you with private landowners who want to share their land so you can experience new places.
“No complaints about the tent and furnishings from Tentrr. Campsite was right by a creek and mosquitos were horrible. Campground facilities were dirty and not maintained. Women’s bathroom was out of paper towel the whole time we were there. Water was shut off in the men’s bathroom so only a porta potty was available. I would hope the main campground is better, but I would not recommend staying at any of the Forest Glade sites. Pet friendly beach was great though.”
Hey there, thanks for your feedback here. Without honest reviews like yours, we wouldn't know where to improve. We are very sorry to hear that you had a less-than-ideal stay at one of our campsites. We are looking into the issues that you've described with the park facilities, and will be working with park staff to ensure that these facilities are brought up to par for our campers from here on out. We are glad to hear that the Tentrr site itself met your expectations, though - that rocks! You may want to consider one of our sites at the beachfront at Sleeper State Park for a similar experience with different surroundings.
Again, we apologize for the situation that occurred, but hope to see you out camping with us again soon!
Cheers!
The Tentrr Team
“We stayed at the campsite and it was really well kept. The woman at the front desk was helpful. Finding the campground was easy (in the daylight). There was plenty to do without having to drive too far!”
“Lots of ways to improve, launder the mattress cover between clients, tents should not be so far from bathroom and better source of water. It is muddy a bd not easy to get to need source of Water like
In the state park, need to describe which tent would be handicapped accessible , quite expensive considering what I described above. At least launder the mattress pad after each camping use. Knd of scary concerns of bed bugs. And bear issues when hiking through woods to bathroom at night”
“The concept is there, but the execution is lacking.
On our arrival, there was no wagon nor a lock on a post that would signal a wagon was in use. We did, however, find (2) wagons locked up in the campsite's dining hall, behind a gate. We tried to contact the local host listed in our welcome guide. She informed us she had not worked for Tentrr since 2021. We called the number on our reservation and couldn't get a hold of the host. We resorted to calling the DNR Park Office and rangers came by to unlock the wagon (only to somehow disappear again less than a day later, to be locked up AGAIN in the dining hall.).
The Rangers notified us that Tentrr leases the land from the state DNR. The site is not well-maintained. There was no visible path/access to our tent site. We had to traverse a sloping ravine area to get access from the main pathway near the restrooms/water access.
The printed guide that was with the Tentrr site has misinformation. The guide said there are Bears in the area. The Rangers told us there are no Bears in the area.
Our Tentrr site was near two cabins with groups and there were no posted quiet hours, like we would expect in other campgrounds, therefore there was noise after 10pm.
While we enjoyed the experience, we felt that there should be more management on site by Tentrr, and a local host that is readily available, if not, in residence, at the site.”
“Great team to help you understand the park and what’s near by! Get the ice cream nearby and go to Lake Huron! The hike is nice and smells amazing, worth the drive from Chicago!!”
