The brand new Oztrail Lumos 6 Person Fast Frame Tent features the fastest system for pitching allowing a setup in minutes. With a single room footprint it offers enough space for smaller families on shorter trips. There is a large front easy step door with an awning for additional shade. The twin hub frame gives maximum horizontal headroom. The Tent also features no-see-um mesh panels throughout for insect protection. This model also includes a zippered access port for integrating either a heater or air-conditioner. The tent also comes with an oversized and easy to stuff carry bag. There is a blockout coating on the fly to block light and reduce heat in summer. Great for when you want to sleep in. The Lumos series features a 750 lumen LED light system powered by either 4 D Cell Batteries (not included) or any USB battery pack. USB connections are included for your convenience. **Please keep in mind that the black coating on the inside of the block-out fly can flake away with use, causing pinpricks of light to appear. This is especially the case around the seams. This is perfectly normal and does not affect the product's ability to reduce light or temperature and can be fixed using black tenacious tape or something similar if you aren't a fan of the starry night effect.**

I took my little boy on a camping trip and this tent was amazing! So easy to set up, easy to pull down (and easily fit back in the bag!!) Was so spacious for the two of us, plus the built in lights made it so much easier to get organised for bed time. I would never normally write a review but this tent deserves a PSA on how good it is !

After finally receiving the long-delayed tent and another few weeks of waiting for a day without rain, I got the chance to set up our new Oztrail Lumos 6P Blackout. Admittedly, having had to borrow the Blackwolf Turbo Plus for a camping trip because of the delayed delivery (a virtually bomb-proof and super-well-designed tent), I had buyers remorse even before I got to open the package. But I wanted to give it a chance, so here are my first impressions. Setup was reasonably easy. Some may struggle to extend the four fast-frame poles, as they do get quite some tension. But once that is up, the rest is pretty straightforward. It has a good quality floor which will come in handy on those massive downpoors or during wet periods. Being a blackout tent, one of the first things I noticed were some holes in the blackout plastification (see photos). Now I can imagine this can happen with age and maybe from use and improper packing, but this was straight out of the box. The areas seem ok from the outside, but the bright light shining through from the inside has me concerned about these three areas becoming potential weak or leak spots. I shall await advice... Blackout technology claims to reduce heat and blockout daylight. It does the latter pretty well apart from the dodgy spots I mentioned. As for heat reduction, the lining of the fly really heated up super quick. Not surprising really, given the colour of the tent is dark grey - maybe a fancy but not seemingly very heat-wise colour choice by a designer. Finally the pegs. Now this is a real sore point for me. So easily fixed and such a silly thing to save money on for what they consider to be the top-range of the fast frame series. Firstly, not only were there no spares, but there were not even enough to peg out every loop and rope to facilitate a complete setup. I was one peg down. Secondly, having just camped a few weeks ago in wet conditions, these small pegs are simply not good enough. Once the ground is wet, they simply won't hold and will come out. Common Oztrail, put some decent size pegs into your Lumos series. Not only will it give your customers the impression of buying a solid tent, it will save them a lot of heartache in wet or wind and will probably even reduce your warranty claims because people can set up the tents properly and they will thus function to their full potential. Overall, the tent fabric, floor and fly seem to be more solid than many a tent in its price class. The in-built light seemed handy and was a good idea, though I wonder whether it is indeed bright enough to be useful even on the high setting and so am not sure if it is worth the extra cost - a bit hard to tell during the day even in a blackout tent. The colour - for Australian summers, make it something light or reflective. The pegs - replace them with some larger pegs of sufficient numbers (and a few spares). I look forward to our first outing in the Lumos 6 though I'm glad I've checked it out before going for real.

The 6 man Oztrail Lumos Fast Frame Tent is more than enough for 2 people with plenty of room for a double mattress and space to store gear and move around without feeling cramped. The main tent set-up is quite fast due to the frame. Installing the fly, ropes, pegs etc takes a little longer but overall is still quite fast. The black out fly keeps the tent dark inside when the sun is up so you can have an afternoon siesta. The built in lights are useful but we still use other lighting that we keep by the bedside. The vestibule is handy to close at night and keep our table, cooking stuff and a chair out of site. Overall the tent suits our needs for a 1 to 3 night camp setup.

LED lights were perfect for lighting I didn’t need any extra hanging space for lamps and I got so many questions about where I got my tent from!! Overall super satisfied tent owner.
