“I bought 2 of these and took them camping, we had them plugged into our generator but had to sleep with no fan as they wouldn't work. I was pretty excited to have extra cool air and was greatly disappointed (especially as they were very expensive).”

“No cooling functionality whatsoever. Company refuses to refund as per warranty, with the following response: "I have managed to track one down and I have tested it in the meantime to see the possible issue. I have found that even with the cooler engaged there is a minimal temperature change in a moderate temperature environment. In a dry environment reaching higher temperatures and with lower humidity is where this cooler will be at its most effective. That being said in humid environments it will slowly get less effective the higher the humidity rises. For these reasons we believe that this item is functioning as intended and therefore is not deemed a warrantable fault."”

Hi, Thank you for your review. As per the video on the listing starting at about 1.10 we do advise that this unit does work best in a dryer environment, this is due to it being an evaporative Cooler and not an air-conditioner. If you believe that the unit is faulty and not working as it is intended to do and wish for a second opinion we can suggest lodging a warranty claim with Companion directly by calling 03 9468 4400. “A little noisier than I expected, but worked a treat. Unfortunately after only a couple of uses it started playing up and not holding charge or not actually switching on! I hope it was just a one off faulty product as it was replaced (by tent world) with a slightly different model (free of charge ).”

“We'd probably need two of them to cool our medium sized tent on a hot day but if you're sitting close and directly in front of the unit, it's effective when running the evaporative component. Running the fan alone, doesn't quite work as effectively as standalone fans, probably due to its size. The unit is a good size and being battery operated is a real bonus - recharges well on USB. We also find it handy to use at home so overall it's good value for money.”
