Absolutely no criticism of Tentworld, from whom I have been and will continue to be, an enthusiastic customer. Having just received and used the Goal Zero Flip 10 Recharger, I have to say that, while the unit operates and is quite inexpensive for the functions it is advertised for, there was no information to say that it will not work with certain types of smartphones, and no doubt other electronic items it is advertised for either. My usage requirement was for a lightweight recharger just to top up my phone and/or charge a watch and maybe a small light. It took a lot of research on my part to find out why my phone only took on about 20% from approx 20% remaining charge when connected to the Flip 10, then proceeded to beep and actually start to lose power. Goal Zero or distributors of the product did not mention a very important fact about this product. I found the information in a suggestion/mention in an online forum which was not even responded to, even though the forum folks seem to spend their lives on there dissing each other. Questions asked of Goal Zero in the past received a response that all phones can be charged with this unit. OK, we know not fully charged, but what happened with my almost new LG phone was not acceptable. My android phone draws 1.8A power and up and uses the USB-C cable. The flip 10's USB output is only 1A and a charging cable is not included, with nothing mentioned about which cables are compatible, or not. Later ads for Goal Zero now state that this unit is not compatible with Samsung S8 phones, with no explanation of why - NOW they should specifically state that it may not charge a phone, and maybe any unit, that needs to draw above 1A of power while charging. It wasted a lot of my time finding this out, and the correct information didn't come from the people selling it.
