Introducing the Oztent RV Plus range – the first major update to the Oztent RV in 15 years. Just like the original, it still takes 30- seconds to setup, is built from high quality 8oz polycotton canvas, features a large attached awning and is super modular but now we’ve added a SkyMesh Skylight, included the fly and all the extra poles you need to peak the awning! We’ve also gone and reconfigured the zips on the awning to make it even more waterproof when attaching accessories and added light loops to hold your LED lights underneath the awning and inside the tent. Time for an upgrade? The Oztent RV Plus is for you!

This is a great tent with the ability for multiple configurations with the add-ons. High quality in the most part, unfortunately after a week of use one of the rings on the pegdown straps has broken off and a couple of others are separating at the weld point. The pole cover is a poor quality and does not match the quality of the tent. Overall, a great purchase even though I will have to repair the ring and replace the pole carrier after two weeks of camping.

Bought RV-5 Plus after watching every review that exists in the whole world. If you use stretchers (we have 2x Oz Tent singles) to add storage space under, it's a tent for 2, not 5, so anyone looking at RV-3 or 4 wondering this or that, just buy the RV-5 Plus and deal with the extra 3 kg of weight - if weight's a pain, separate out pegs and poles - this makes a difference. All these tents are the same length and we found we could fit it diagonally in the Forester with a seat down. Further, you really want the fly and the extra awning poles of the Plus. The fly keeps the tent cooler - we found it was the difference between an afternoon nap and dying of heatstroke when in full sun. The mesh floor (it's the only optional extra with this tent) integrates the sleeping space into the living area, which is this tent's huge bonus. We liked the numerous peg points and the coarse texture of the mesh, which removes grass from little feet. The peaked awning is great - going for the Plus just for that makes it worth the extra. The awning space is considerable, even with a 1.6m table and chairs occupying it. Build quality is high, ventilation is good, considering the realities of mesh. We had intermittent rain all weekend and not a drop inside with no fly up, as we were seasoning the fabric. The quality of the poles is good, the pegs are excellent, the luminous guy ropes are thoughtful, I liked the guy rope pockets, 8yo loved the moon roof. We arrived at dusk with lots of screaming and sprinkles of rain, and I put the tent up for the first time in growing darkness by self without head lamp. Apart from the awning (if alone you need to set up the front poles and the cross member all leaning against the frame then move them forward and peg), there was no swearing. The internal frame allowed us to minimise the number of guys in the protected spot we camped. Setup was not 30 seconds but given the size of the overall structure, it was faster than expected. The pack up was easier still, though I tend to agree with others that it's hard to make this tent occupy its original space once unpacked. Regardless, the RV-5 is a tent that is liveable enough to justify its extra cost on the basis of extra use. We are planning the next trip already and figure after a few more nights under canvas this tent will have more than paid for itself.
