The heat bead basket sits inside the top of the Ozpig - perfect for controlled cooking. The use of heat beads is great when cooking! 15 to 25 heat beads should provide 3 to 4 hrs of cooking time. The top plate or char grill will sit over the basket and you can regulate the heat from high to low by the position of the front door. Important: Keep the door open during the first phase of lighting the heat beads. Please make sure that the beads have turned (from grey to a white) before starting the cooking process. More air (open door) - Faster burning time = High Heat Less air (closed door) - Slower burning time = Low Heat Simply push your multi-tool through the coals and hook on the loop at the bottom of the basket when you want to place or remove the basket.
