Love it. It reminds me of my childhood of our street food in the Philippines which we used the cast iron waffle to cook hot cake. I’ve been looking this type of waffle maker in an older version for many months and I’m glad I saw it online through the Tent World website. Without hesitation I ordered online. Thank you Tent World.

I bought the Waffle iron so I could use it at home on the gas stove top, and take it camping as well. It took some trial and error. Best results are by pre heating quite hot, the separated sides on a burner each. Oil and butter the sides, add pancake / waffle mix to one side, attach other side and remove from heat. Leave to cook for a while off heat.

I find it very tricky to manage the two halves while oiling them and while adding batter, while also trying to keep them hot and not get burned. It is also quite hard to disconnect and reconnect the halves at the hinge when using hot-mitts. It will take a lot of practice. It is important to season the irons several times before use until very black and shiny, or the waffles will stick fast and have to be scraped out with a wire brush!
