These pouches are part of my standard equipment. I generally carry three on my belt, which gives me three litres of water (recommended amount per person per day as a minimum). I never carry equipment unless it has several uses. Three of these gives me enough water, but I also use them at night in conjuction with a metal canteen full of hot water (plastic ones would melt) to heat up my sleeping bag and sleep clothes before I climb into bed. They will keep the bottles warm all night giving me extra comfort as a cold sleeper. The side pockets allow me to carry a small first aid kit, emergency rations, and heavily modified/personalised survival kit. This means that if for some reason I cannot continue to carry my main pack for any reason, I have enough equipment to help me survive until extraction/ rendezvous. Good construction and hard wearing equipment that will last a long time.
