Was looking for a versatile and ultra light weight tarp suitable for setting up as a bivouac tent or even a makeshift light weight swag. This fit the bill perfectly. Has a lot of tie down points. Easy to set up for a night after a hike. Especially with trekking poles or a flipped bicycle wheel.

Love my Hootchie! I carry two anytime I step out on a hike, whether it be for a day trek of several day through hike. Setting up a low profile shelter alongside my campfire is far warmer when camping below freezing conditions when it isn’t snowing. (You don’t need a big fire and don’t camp too close or you may melt a hole in it!..) The flexibility of a hootchie I find superior to a tent. It is a shelter from the sun that allows airflow in summer, a groundsheet, a windbreak, a blanket, a bag, a stretcher, water bucket, waiding pool in the back of the ute, even a bandage for broken bones.. It has a thousand other uses and limited only by your ingenuity. The press studs mean you can put a few together to make big shelter areas or sleep mutiple people under. Waterproof to sleep under, I have used one as a sleep shelter and the other as a high roof over my camp fire when it is raining to keep me warm when temps are just above freezing... It is an essential kit item for any true outdoors person! I want to add another three or four to my camping equipment and cut down on tarps that take up a lot of room and break too easily!
