ATC SCM40 when Ben first showed me these speakers I really like the design of them and yes that includes the grills, well Ben was telling me they are popular with many stars and people in the industry but to be honest it was love at first sight for me haha I knew I was going to get them soon enough but I had to sort my turntable first and cart, which they very much helped me to do. I like the look I like the sound it is very neutral but I have the option of adding colour when I am in that type of mood and they sound great when doing so, I am 100% sure I got the right speakers and thoroughly am enjoying them, as I listen to all music genres they can manage them all, and they go as hard as I want or as soft as I want it’s just no effort for these great speakers.

Absolutely superb speakers. After a year of looking and auditioning many speakers at a wide range of prices right up to £15,000 these captured my listening attention. Jack encouraged me to bring my amplifier along and left me alone for (what turned into) a couple of hours listening to my demo list. Unlike practically everything else I auditioned I wasn't skipping tracks after 30s I was enjoying the sound so much I played the whole llst start to finish and sometimes played a track for a second time. Sheer musical enjoyment. Crisp, detailed, dynamic, clear (and with the right amplifier) utterly in control and authoritative across all types of music. No fatigue at all in the top end, sublime midrange, and the tightest bass you've ever heard. Drums sound like real drums for the first time on any hifi I've owned. Some speaker brands like to talk about "Lets you hear the music as the artist intended." ATC say "Never mind what they intended, this is what they recorded. Exactly as it happened." Great recording sound great, old recordings sound authentic, low DR recordings made-for-airpods sound like they were made for airpods. Time for a Qobuz subscription. They are an absolute steal at their asking price, outperforming far more pricey speakers. I think they are sold almost at cost hoping to entice you into their higher-end models later on. They are also far more handsome in real life than I was expecting, they look great in black ash with the grills. They might not be the perfect speakers for everyone, but I have somehow stumbled my way into owning something I absolutely love. Speakers for life.

I have heard the ATC SCM40 speakers on several occasions in the past and have always been impressed by them so off i went to my favourite dealer where Jack and Steve had set up my amp and front end for a lovely pressure free dem. I loved what i heard from this and ordered a new pair in cherry straight away...the trade in on my old speakers was excellent and im very happy with them in my own room at home they are not room or placement fussy and eeek every ounce of detail from your music - they do lovely bass when required without being overblown they are in my opinion one of the great hi-fi bargains to be had. superb speakers, superb shop. KEEP IT UP BOYS !

Brilliant. A proper studio monitor for the home, and about a 1/4 the price it should be, but also performs well at low listening levels too.

I have had a set of these for 12 months and have been very impressed with them. They give a very solid ÔmonitorÕ type sound that I like. They truly shine with a very high quality sound source and are far more natural than other speakers I tried. The down side is that with poor quality sound sources they will sound very thin compared to the competition. So, if you like old recordings they may not be for you.
