“I have had a number of systems and changes of equipment over the years. I read various opinions about the Anthem MRX40 and was dubious about it. Unusually,I was looking for something that would play SACD multi channel/CD music discs as well as a good video performance. After discussion with Jack and Ben at Audiobarn I decided to bite the bullet and hope I'd made the right choice! After set-up using Anthem's ARC (Anthem Room Correction) I spent a few days listening to some favourite discs. The ARC system is not like any other I have experienced. It is a very noticeable aspect of the whole performance. It creates a lovely listening environment. Within this environment the sound emerging via this receiver is remarkable. The dynamics, open sound-stage, stereo imaging, clarity, detail, and fullness are all well above expectation through my system. (ATC SCM19 speakers for stereo, ATC SCM11 added for surround and B&W bass unit). This is an exciting purchase. Finally, I suppose I should mention that it also does everything a receiver should do very well. I have concentrated on the musical side because the reproduction I am getting for both 'classical' (my favourite choice) and more popular music is so unexpectedly and excitingly presented. Well done Anthem. I'm a fan!”
