“I was sceptical about the advantage of adding the K41 to the already excellent (and pricy) K22, and it has taken a while for it to become fully apparent. But listening to the recent recording by Chamayou of Ravel's 'La Valse', an incredibly testing piece of piano music for any system, I suddenly realised that this was the first time I'd felt the full physical presence of a piano in front of me. Note for other obsessives: after much testing of options, I find Squeeze+Roon through AES is my preference, via a Bricasti DAC and the very precise YG Tor speakers (JPlay becomes a bit wearying).”
