Jake, This item has a rhodium plating on it. That is supposed to keep it from tarnishing and keep it looking shiny. Unfortunately, that plating (especially when worn in the shower) can start to come off. No Worries! We are going to send you another one! We stand behind EVERYTHING we sell.
