SCH 60" Two-Row Towed Scarifying Rake Reviews

3 Rating 2 Reviews
Read The Green Reaper Reviews

The scarifying rake is a multi-purpose tool for levelling, scarifying many types of surfaces - grass, shingle driveways, sand and composition arenas, seed beds etc.
It will remove dead and matted grass from pasture land, paddocks and rough grassed areas. The rake may also be used for combing through the horse menages, freshening up large drives and gravelled areas.
The two rows of heavy duty spring tines dig into the surface pulling out dead grass. It will also level mole hills. Top weights may be added to increase the units efficiency. With the transport wheels removed and the unit turned over it becomes a very efficient levelling unit.
New for gravel drive maintenance
The tow bar has been redesigned so that the rake will tow in an angled position.  A side blade is fitted to pull gravel in from the side which has been pushed to the edge.
Please note: To avoid damage during transit, the tines are supplied loose, and SCH fit only one tine as an example of how to do this.

I find it amazing that you ask me for a review when I have not even taken delivery of the equipment!

Dear PETER We are somewhat concerned to receive this review. I have checked with the manufacturer and forwarded to you by email the courier's proof of delivery dated 25th November. As requested, please let us know if and when you have located the item on the estate. Thank you. Kind regards Nicki

Was out when delivered so when moving it later in the evening I realised just how robust this rake is. There is no way it would not do its job. Unpacking reveals the need to put all the individual prongs in place. One was done so I simply copied. It took around 20 minutes. Half an hour later I hooked it up to my mower and hit the drive. First pass I was not impressed. I thought it would pull all the weeds out straight away. Over the course of the next 20 or so minutes I realised with every pass the weeds were being lossened. Giving the mower a break I manually raked the worst parts (I've not weeded for 18 months) and all the weeds came up easily. An hour later the drive looked like new. For the first time in 6 years. All in, with this rake and manually, it took 2 hours to make a 60 meter drive like new. Highly recommended. Just don't think one pass will do it.
