“This is my fourth Harley so I guess that I'm rather keen on them, for me the quality (bubbling paintwork etc) which leaves something to be desired, but the chapter experience and social side of things is what keeps me on board.”
“I'm quite happy with my Harley even though compared to some bikes it is a bit agricultural and heavy but I still enjoy riding it and they hold their value well. I'm getting on in years and the body is wearing so the laid back riding position is good for the back I find. I also have an Honda VTR1000 SP-Y which is a terrific bike to ride and admire but I've found that my body cries "enough" after a few miles now so it will probably have to go. Probably in time I will downsize to something smaller and lighter but I think I will always keep my Harley. Cheers”
“I have been a biker for 40 years and as I have now started to slow down a bit this is the bike for me, I ride all year and find it does its job. Mine is a 1200 fuel injection model on an 08
10/10.”
“I passed my test and immediately brought an 883 xl custom. Great introduction to Harley Davidson , maneoverable and lighter than bigger tourers. I love the seating position as a 5ft 7 woman felt it fitted me perfectly.Loved this bike but swapped for my husbands 1200xl custom when he brought his dyna. The 1200 gives me great confidence when powering on for the extra pick up. Otherwise the ride is the same.”
“Harley looks good, sounds good but are high maintenance bikes. Spares are over priced, f the clothes are made in China and most of the chrome is made in Taiwan. Service fee from the steelerships are very pricey. 5k service £250.00 + vat, cost me £65.00 and 45 minutes to do it myself. Decided to sell and go back to a Suzuki. The joy of riding a bike that keeps the oil inside the engine. When I am close to sixty with a 50" waist, a large wad of disposable cash and feel the need to hang around Harley stores with other fat men wearing leather and eating burgers I may buy another one!”
