It is a comfortable bike to ride with ample power for my needs. I have had no reliability problems over nine years of ownership.

Had the Bike 9 years and has never let me down. Used for European Tours and weekend riding usually with pillion, cannot fault it. More than enough power, handles well, comfortable and no unnecessary fancy electronic gadgets. Fits my needs perfect.

Engine misfires at idle and exhaust is quite black. Honda assure me this is normal. Parking the bike is a swine as the long suspension travel can easily cause the side stand to lift. This has led to me dropping the bike about 5 times. Very heavy to manoeuvre and lousy turning circle.

I have ridden and owned motorbikes almost continuously for 58 years!!! In that time I have owned a great series of bikes including Superbikes,( GPZ.900R, GS.850G, XJ.900, VFR.800 and now my beautiful CBF.1000). I bought this Honda CBF.1000 bike new, eight years ago, and I have used it extensively for touring in France, Germany, Austria, Italy, Spain and Portugal. We have covered over 35000 miles and in all that time I have not had one single problem with this bike and it is an absolutely superb Touring Machine.... comfortable, easy to handle, effortless power in any gear and at almost any RPM. Fuel economy is around 60mpg and I get 210+ miles before needing to refuel. I have recently taken various Demo bikes out but nothing seems better than the CBF.1000 for the touring role. The great 'Fireblade' engine in this bike is re-tuned to give huge torque but less total BHP, and yet the bike will easily achieve 130mph in crisp style.... who on earth, realistically, needs more?? In general we have toured on the old 'Main Roads' avoiding 'Duals' etc as far as possible. We cruise at around 75/80mph but on one epic last year we had to get back from Spain in quick time for personal reasons, and covered 780 miles in one day at an effortless 80+mph for the whole journey,(on Peage etc.... boring, but quick!). There are not many motorbikes on which anyone could do this.... never mind an old guy like me! In my opinion this bike is HUGELY underrated by The Press. This is an excellent bike in all respects and I suppose if I had one very minor criticism it is that it could quite easily have been given a little bit more exciting and snappier paint scheme!! . A very understated Honda!

I started biking quite late (45 yrs old) and have had seven bikes over the years. I think the CBF is the best bike of the lot. It not only does everything buy it does it well. My CBF 1000 A was bought new under the 0% finance deal; has completed 55k miles in eight yrs which includes trips to Europe at least once every year. Only once let down; a failed alternator but Honda stood by it and replaced it under "warranty" at 42000 miles. I would be very reluctant to swap to anything other than Honda. What more to say?
