“The VFR 1200 is low on rider adjustable features but technically right up to date. The ABS and traction control are set at a nominal level being suitable for the weight and handling of the machine. The weight disappears once on the move and the handling is superb both in the country lanes of Wales and on the motorways. Two up riding is very comfortable and roomy and the power of the engine makes for effortless progress. The suspension and shaft drive really make two up riding a fantastic experience and highlights the true nature of the machine. Solo riding is also superb with exhilerating performance and stopping power to match.
The build quality is very precise in design and function and has a finish that will last for years.
Having paid top dollar for the bike and seeing the depreciation that has ravaged the resale value I feel that I will keep the bike for a long time. This though will be no hardship as I absolutely love the bike.
I have owned quite a number of bikes in my 48 years of riding and cannot remember owning a more exciting and capable machine than the Honda VFR 1200f.

“This is truly a Marmite bike. I was looking for a good all rounder that I could have some fun on, would hold the road well and also eat up the miles when touring. I have travelled to Spain twice, Portugal once and around France a few times. The Honda reliability is impressive as is the pleasure I get from riding it. After 4 years I have considered swapping it but cannot find another bike that I like as much. So, if you like the looks of it and want a fast reliable all rounder this could be the bike for you.”

“Pros:
I have used this bike for European trips to Spain, Portugal and France plus general use. On the occasions that I have had a loaner whilst in for services etc and get the beast back I know why I chose it and love to ride it,
The performance is astonishing and handling, brakes and looks still make we want to ride it.
Cons:
It did require an engine rebuild due to noise problems. I believe that Honda missed it during the early swarf problems. But having rebuilt the bottom end it is now back to new condition without the noise.
Headlight bulb change requires either very small hands or a visit to the shop.
If you fancy a good looking, powerful and well handling bike then this is for you.”
