Thought I'd get back to biking in a sensible way so got a VFR. Although it's high quality, smooth, refined and all those other words that are synonymous with Honda, it is unbelievably DULL! I had an Aprilia 1000 V-Twin before my 4 year lay off, and that had bags of character. Guess I have been spoiled, as I'm thinking it's V-Twin or nothing now... Sorry Honda.

Been riding this Vtec for 8 years now and still haven't found a bike in my opinion that can replace it that can do any more than it can. A great all round tourer that can be best of both bikes, sports and touring. Handles superbly as well as munching the miles on the motorways on long hauls and really enjoys the twisty stuff at the higher rev range. Very comfortable with 'two up' and handles every bit the same when fully loaded. Honda reliability is always something I look for in a bike and the VFR range is no exception. Cheap insurance and running costs, even the services every 4,000 miles are good value even a Honda main dealer. If you're looking for something that covers all the fun you ever need on a bike then consider the VFR Vtec 800. Although starting to look a little dated now the new 1200 range is not a patch on this little work horse.
