“I like this bike. It is well built and I have heard of them going for serious miles. Great fun and comfortable. I have handlebar risers on mine as I needed that extra little lift. Fuel economy is not as good as it could be but this also depends on your right hand. I would not expect to get much better than 45mpg. The engine is not as manageable as the previous non-VTEC model. It hates going around town. It just wants to go. There is not enough room under the saddle for even the tool-kit.
That all said I am very happy with my VFR.”
“Bought this bike privately after having 4 BMW`s, the last one being a 1660GT with all the toys! I thought this bike would be a "stop gap" before buying back into the Touring/Grand Touring sector. But what a surprise! This machine is the best bike (overall) I have ever had. It handles beautifully, looks great, has all the power I will ever need and over the 18 month period I have had it, it has been totally reliable. I have the full Honda luggage system with it and this year have done 3/4 trips away and enjoyed each one. This is a "proper" motorbike which I look forwards to riding all the time. Only drawback is that after about 200 miles or so, I get a bit of wrist/neck ache, but there again, I ain`t 20 anymore!”
“An economical bike which can be lots of fun when you hit 6800revs and the extra valves kick in. The bike does 'hunt' a little when getting close to 6800revs, so you either have to slow down a little or open it up and get past the engine surging up and down. It does encourage you to ride in lower gears though, just so you can hear the growl when all 4 valves are working. A lot of fun but be aware of the service costs every 16000 miles when valves have to be checked. Would i buy another one of these................oooh yesssss!!!!”
“My bike is now 7 years old, and I have recently done hardly any miles on it. But because I love it so much, I can't bring myself to sell it. I think that says it all really - of what I think of this bike. In my opinion it is by far the best balanced bike, and because of the seat height, it is feasible for most women (including me) to use it. If there is a slight (!) downside: it is quite heavy (mine is about 235kg incl. petrol), so moving it without engine, e.g. pushing it backwards, takes a bit of training. But, as I said earlier, it is a brilliant bike that once you own it, you don't ever want to part with it even if you not/hardly using it.”
