“Oodles of power, 90mph in first!
Nicely weighted but heavy on the wrists for me.
Noisy standard rotors/calipers at the front but an easy upgrade. Definately use braided lines.
Not too bad for pillion either (now that she knows there is a seat under there :-/ )”
“With some modifications like changing the front brakes and changing the rear tyre from a 200 / 50 to a 200 /55 it makes all the difference in both handling and braking
this then with the power makes it the best bike on the road today for having fun.
long road trip I think I would like more of a tour seats. and better fuel economy as the zx12r isn't the best for fuel but it has more power than you will ever want. it pulls in every gear even 5th at 40mph 6th at 50pmh but 4th at 40 mph is like star trek going into warp :) I'm not going to say what 3rd is like at 40 mph LOL and 2nd is you have to change to quick you do the maths.
to put a figure on it the bike will do 186mph in 5th so from 40 to 186 in 1 gear with the bike pulling your arms off that's a ZX12R .
I would like to point out that this is just facts and not what I would do or have done.
it is by far the best Bike I have ever owned and that's way back from 1983 when I started riding bikes”
“Since changing the suspension and brakes to ZZR1400 spec the bike is glued to the road and very stable even over the Mountain road (Isle of Man TT) The best buy recently were Dunlop Qualifier tyres superb grip and wear rate.”
“Awesome speed loads of power poor fuel economy tyres wear well if used sensibly. Comfort wise its ok for an hour or two max before a break is needed.
Owned bike from new done lots of miles (35k) serviced myself and will never sell”
“Puts a smile on your face every time you go for a run. Petrol consumption a bit high, but what do you expect.
Only moan, wish the battery was more accessible”
